Good price, but I've heard that the quality on this particular model is not the typical good quality normally associated with Pioneer products.
Just buyer beware on this one.

If this is a case, My apology to Polk Club members. Pio will bear a bad name for this one and that remains to be seen.

It is good that you pointed out a potential bargain, however not every bargain is really a bargain.

I was interested in buying his unit several months ago myself.
I ended up getting the Pioneer BDP-51FD for the $150 deal at BB instead.
I related a personal comment I've heard in the previous post.
This unit, the BDP-120, has below average reviews for a Pioneer product on Amazon.
I'm interested in what others experiences are.

Well, the $149.00 deal on the BDP 51fd @ BB closed-out was the "best buy" of the year to me that's why I grabbed 3 NIB eventhough I am not much into Blu-Ray stuff. I bought them for the good analog 2channel output with the Wofson Dacs and specification wise, the BDP51 beside the gold RCAs output is the same with the BDP05 ( MSRP $799.00) .

As far as I know, the BDP 121 will not read the Mp3 files but have not heard any other complaints from the end-users yet. Of course, there will be a FW updated just like the BDP51fd.

I did upgrade the firmware in mine, but it is still slow.
I do however like it's Blu-ray video and audio performance.
I also liked its performance with CD's with my SC-07.
Glad I waited to get it.

I may bite the bullet and get this BDP 121 from Tigerdirect since Canada Pio web site shows " bullet fast loading time" while USA PIO does not list the BDP121 but only the BDP 120. I wonder the BDP121 is made in Canada between Sharp and Pio Corp.

PioSC07 owner? You're lucky you. I bought the SC05 and stop looking up since the Sc07/ Sc09 are above my budget.

Nope, it was $134.99 for the BDP 121 ( not a typo) on Oct 15 2009 on Woot. Now only TigerDirect offer $149.00 for the BDP 121. I wonder how bullet fast its loading time is.

Ok, I'm originally from Canada, but now reside in Louisiana, where the people love crawfish and football.

Hey, You must feel right at home @ Louisina ! They speak some Creole or Cajun French overthere. I can pick up a bit French words from them but my father who speaks French fluently told me they did not speak the same Parisiene or Canadian French.

Love that crawfish and the Beigne. Yeah, Beigne is so GOOOOD.
