mutlimedia hard drive recommendation

I'm interested in getting a multimedia hard drive (now that I know such things exist), but don't know where to begin. I basically just want it for music at this point, and would like to not need a TV. So, an LCD display would be great, especially if it could display mp3 tags. A remote control would also be nice. Does anyone have any recommendations? Again, I don't necessarily need DVR capabilities or anything like that. I also don't want to have to keep a computer running (like for a squeezebox). Just a 500G or 1T hard drive with ability to play directly to a stereo receiver. What's the best out there?

Apple TV absolutely love them and you can have your music all on the internal hard drive or stream it directly from any itunes library. This one gets my vote.HT setup

While I really like Apple TV, the small internal harddrive was a real problem. While it has been about a year since I looked, I don't think Apple TV comes anywhere close to having storage capacity in the 500 gig or 1TB range.

Heard decent reviews on the WD TV.

Well there is 2 things you can do about the small HD in the apple tv do the hack and use a external HD or crack it open and upgrade the HD inside. My collection just barely can fit in the 160gb hard drive.HT setup

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the WD TV idea. I was originally thinking of something like the Lacie Lacinema or maybe the Iomega Screenplay or something like the TVisto. I kind of like the idea of having the hard drive separate from the player device though. I'll definitely think about the WD TV.
