Will I notice a difference in sound quality if I use a 1978 JVC 190 watt reciever instead of a 1997 TEAC 130 watt?

Probably not....I'd use the JVC out of the 2.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

which JVC model?
Does it, perchance, look anything like this...?

I would say the older JVC would sound better. My 1970's 15 WPC Pioneer receiver sounds a lot better than my 100wpc 1990's JVC receiver. It's not so much the brand as the vintage...Ludicrous gibs!

Well, that's kind of where I was goin'...
by the very late 1970s (maybe 1980) the bottom-end JVCs were nothing to write home about; but their better stuff from the early-mid 1970s was pretty decent. -
No.......it's a RS -33 superA......190watts
