Hello all,
I was looking into a new tuner, any one have a preference that matches the Carver TX-12 ? Really like that one, but can't seem to find one anywhere.
What about the Yamaha tuners? Anyone have much experience with these?
Thanx
B.

I have been very pleased with my Pioneer TX-9500II silver tuner. yeah there are much better out there.. but for the price.. I think they are still a good deal to be had. Read up on www.fmtunerinfo.com about certain tuners you might be interested in.

The TX-9500II was second from the TOTL behind the TX-9800.. read both reviews at fmtunerinfo.com

Be sure to check out the HD tuner capabilities if you are in a major market. Lots of good HD programming on the airwaves.

Check out the Sony HD tuner XDR F1HD for something modern and pretty decent that with mods can become a stellar tuner.

Check over in AK in the Tuner section for more info.

Man, that Outlaw receiver looks sweet. And at a 100/160 watts per, that's plenty of power for most rigs.

Any of the Carver CT lineup would fit your bill.

You can get a brand new Carver TX2 for $120.00 plus shipping from Audiogon. The guy closed out his business and has a lot of NOS @ good price. Search under Carver from the above web-site. Good luck

If you like the TX12 I think I know someone who has one.

Give www.vintagehifishop.com a call. He does not have one listed on his site but I think he has one.

I have one of them and it lives up to its reputation. I am running 4 Monitor 70s plus subout to an Epik Valor. It has a very nice sound. A couple steps up from my HK3490, which I have in another part of the house. My advice is if you want 2 ch for a larger room, spend the 600 and change on the RR2150, it has a nicer sound and more power. The HK3490 receiver is half the price and is really nice for a bedroom rig, but it really isn't sufficient, either sound quality or volume, for a living room rig.
Living Room system: 52"HDTV, 4 Mon.70s, Epik Valor, Outlaw RR2150
    Bedroom System: 2 Mon.60s,Velo VRP1200, HK3490
