One Year Ago This Evening ....

... right about this time, myself and several distinguished Polk Forum members were finishing up dinner at the restaurant on the private island where Matt Polk lives. Prior to that we were given the run of his home and his audio rigs. Totally unsupervised (except for Matt). There were a lot of impressive moments, but for me, a full bath/shower in your warehouse sized separate garage will do it every time.

Then the next day was PolkFest at HQ's which was great, and the next day was PolkFest at Al & Hedy's house, which was greater.

Then, over a year's time ........

Yep, see how much fun you can have when you get out of the house.

That evening will be a fond memory for as long as I live. Being invited into the home of someone I admire, and being treated like an old friend by our host was a real treat. Add to that being in the company off several good friends who I only get to see occasionally plus meeting GG, Ricardo, Raife, and Doug for the first time, and it was simply a wonderful evening. The tour of Polk HQ was fun but the party at Hedy and Al's was exceptional as well.

    What a great week-end. Here's to Baltimore PF 08.

And to think I almost had to miss it due to business. That would have been a real bummer.

It wasn't a problem for me...the limo just dropped me off at the front door.

It was special invite for the dinner and the house. There were 10 of us Polk Forum guys and a couple members of the audiophile press. Matt picked up dinner.

When we were doing the house thing, Brett and I were sitting on the couch right outside the kitchen area, checking out the HT rig. Matt put on a video of The Blue Man Group doing Baba O'Riley live. The sound was spectacular, and then this HONEY of a singer started in. Nice dress, nice moves, great pipes, and I was mesmerized. Matt kept asking me something but I don't know what it was. It might've been a request for me to stop touching myself, I'm not sure.

It was a great night.......and will not be replaced because "the Man" is not in the Polk picture as he was before......

    Good times for sure......

You guys were lucky, you got three amazing days at PF '08. The rest of us only got two, but they were just as amazing, IMO.

Hard to believe it's been a year already...
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

And you (Brett) liked the deb with the pulsating dress that did a cameo with The Blue Man Group, singing I Feel Love. More great pipes.

Yeah, but in the other two days some of us got to meet you Harry! And Face!

That Dvd was played at Al's on the SRT's and thanks for reminding me George I still need to get a copy of that.

Then I got the shock of my life when George came walking through the door at Polk HQ! I had NO idea he was going to be there. It was so great to finally meet & hug him in person.

George had Mark & I in stitches at Al's house with his stories. And listening to the SDA's up in the bedroom with Mark (Doro), Russ, Ted all posted on every available door to stop them from rattling. Though no one could do anything about the windows, was absolutely hysterical!

Mark & I had a blast. I hope all of you who attend this years PF have as good a time as we did last year!!!!

At the dinner table when Gates chewed up all his food and opened his mouth to show Matt what it looked like in there, that was the highlight for me.
