The left channel suddenly has no bass. The green light is on and the sub does not engage whether set to on or auto. Did my amp take a dump? can I use an external amp for the sub? Help.

thanks

Check to see nothing came loose inside. The internal wiring is really basic if you take the plate amp off. Otherwise, inspect the amp itself once you take it out and see if anything burned out IE swollen caps/etc. There's no fuse on it unfortunately but hopefully it's just something that came disconnected.

Ok. I removed the amp plate, no strange looking caps or anything, it DOES have a fuse, fuse checks ok. powered-up, moved plate a little, sub came on, then went off. Cannot locate the loose connection! Damn!

Finally got the sub to stay on for a while so started to replace the plate and as I'm tightening the plate to the back of the cabinet, the sub went off  as I'm tightening the last screw...

So I back off a little on the last screw and the sub comes back. I'm not completely happy but at least its working. What should I look for when I get back in there because its driving me nuts just knowing somethins is amiss.....

    Thanks.

At least it's not going bad!

I should've mentioned looking for a loose connection/solder or something.
