    Garbage..............I would't waste my money on it. If you want quality for under 1K, look into a reputable brand. Optoma HD20 and BenQ W1000 come to mind. As noted the response to your post from UFO over @ AVS:

    "That projector = garbage Native resolution is not even 480p. Contrast is probly somthing like 50:1 and lumens is probly close to about 150. Cheap chinese made projector with garbage parts. Max I would pay for that is.....nothing. These things are all over craigslist and they are just scams to get you to buy a POS for a super high price."

    LOL. Their website kinda reminded me of 'white van' merchandise. Their speakers look VERY familiar, design wise:rolleyes:.

    Stop saying that, as it is not the best and will have no effect on high performance PJs. Perhaps it may effect LCD type PJs but even the Epson lineup supasses the panasonic. It's a decent unit, but not the best under 2k.

    And for someone owning a Sony VW50/60, you should know that. :)

    The panny 4000 is the best under 2k . They even sealed up the light engine inside partially

    It can project 50% more of the red light spectrum

    The native contrast has greatly increased allowing the dynamic contrast to hit a whopping 100,000: 1

    The light output in cinema has increased 42%

    It has a powerd zoom lens so no need to climb up on a step ladder every time

    It has great frame interpolisation for sports and games so no more motion blur

    It can be used with either a 16:9 or true 2:35 cinematic projection screen without splurge'n on a $2~3000 lens

    So if thats not the best brand new projector with 2 yr warranty under 2k then tell me what is because I want to know!!!


    The epson 8100 was seemingly revolutionary but its contast of 36000 compared to 18000 on last years was nothing more than a new dynamic iris trick and was evidently not much different so thats been scraped from the list

    Again dont believe the hype. The Panasonic will be a great performer but I'm willing to bet it still can't compete with HD1 in terms of contrast and black level performance. Nothing against Panasonic as I tend to recommend them also, but in the sub 2k market I would choose an Epson as they offer better image quality over what I have seen in the 2000/3000 Panny machines. I'm not an LCD type guy anyway as I was sold on the LCOS tech when I picked up my 1st JVC and turned it on. Fanboy, meh maybe a tad, great customer service, Kuro like image quality for a great price, how can you not be. Again I'm not sure how you choose LCD over your VW50.

    Bang for buck at 1599-1999 perhaps a Panasonic will work for you, to each their own but to say it is the best is definitely an overstatement.

    Do you have a REAL review, and not a generic copy/paste from their website? Projector central never takes any time to actually review their stuff. So far all you've done is copy paste what they copy pasted, which doesn't give anything more than marketing information. Do you have any real world usage of it, or any real world measurements of it?

    If not, please link some so that you might have some real truth behind what you're saying. Otherwise, your words are empty to us.

    These guys are proffesional video philes and I have saw the panny 3000 and it rock and thousands of posative posts are on avs about it . Now the 4000 is 20% cheaper than the 3000 bringin it under 2000 and I have read all the info I can about every other new pj coming out and nothing can beat this ???

    Guys if its better than the 3000 and 20% cheaper then there's no need for a indepth review because its safe to assume based on the 3000's performance and abundance of reviews

    Its quite simply going to be the best under $2000 theres nothing to fathom?

    Anything truthful? Everything I mentioned was fact buddy! And here you are just basing your thoughts on a PJ you have yet to see, and assumption. How does that add up to saying its the best sub 2K product out? Come on bro, let's just see what the numbers are after some real reviews are released, then maybe; just maybe we may agree with you.

    I'm still waiting to see that VW50 setup, unless of course I am to assume there isn't one. AHAHA. Let's see some pics bro. :D


    Edit: Since the PJ is relatively cheap, I may buy one just to see what the hype is about. I doubt it will keep up with my RS10, but we will see.

    How much width and depth do you need in a room to even consider a projector? In my new house my finished basement is just sitting empty at the moment and I'm at the point where I am in the market for a bigger TV. If a projector is an option, I'll just go that route. My concern is that I have a support beam that may be in the way.

    If you can take a measurement on width/depth of room I can give you an idea of max screen size and PJ throw distance. Here is a PJ calculator you can use to try it out. PJ itself can be ceiling, shelf or tabletop mounted, so your support beam may not be a problem.
