AES/EBU vs Coax

I ordered some D-110 cable as well as the HC Alloy XLR plugs from DH Labs last week and built myself a cable for my new toy.(DIP) I first hooked up the cable to the transport and DAC and switching back and forth did not really hear any difference. The coax seemed just a little tipped up.Then I put the monarchy DIP combo in the mix and while not a night and day difference it did improve the soundstage. BUT,,,I am waiting on an ieGO silver plated plug and IEC to arrive to terminate the 4ft power plus cable I also ordered from DH.I have read in some forums that the DIP can really shine with an upgraded power cord:D..I know my DAC did when it got a DH cord.
I hear a lot of talk sometimes about the different digital cables and which is better. One site had it BNC the best,,coax second, AES third and optical last.
Another had AES the best, then BNC,coax, optical.
All I have to say is I didnt notice much if any difference in the two I use.One thing is clear though...I saved 45.00 bucks (over half)building my own D-110 cable. And DH Labs has awsome customer service. They instructed me step by step on the best way to build the cable. And to even call back if I had any more questions and tell them how it sounds.
And last,, I just bought not one pair but two pair of thier revelation ICs on audiogon for 150.00 a pair.Thats a great deal on those ICs.(399.00new)

Being that the AES/EBU interface is a balanced one it will have excellent common mode (noise)rejection so can used over greater lengths than coax.Aswell the inputs and outputs are transformer coupled which also helps with noise isolation. Is it better than a properly terminated 75 ohm coax with BNC's?Good question.Testing

S/PDIF (common BNC, digital coax, optical) was developed as the consumer format of AES/EBU (common XLR) that used more common market connectors.
