MIT Terminator 2 Speaker Cables

Folks I have to admit, Conrad has a speaker wire fetish. Here are my best sets of wires to date in no order:
Kimber Kable 4PR
Audioquest Type 4 and GBC
SignalCable Ultra
Monster Z2

I want to try MIT, but just can not afford most of them.

The older gray square boxed Terminator 2 cables were recommended to me by our Mr. President. Looks like they are in my budget.

I know many of you have had them in the past.
What can I expect from the Terminator 2?

Have them as will as 2 sets of I/C's and I love them. Great bass, improved soundstage and sweetness in the highs. Try to get the last gen or two. The gray square boxes with the grooves. The gray smooth boxes are good too.

When I have some extra scratch and stop spending money on tubes I will move up to Shotguns........but honestly I can't complain one bit about the the T2's. Do your research because prices are all over the board. I'm just now realizing what a great deal I got on all of mine.

Shotguns are out of my price range at this moment. I'm going to start searching for the T2's. Thanks for the input folks.

What length are you looking for ?

Here are some that I think you are looking for. Not sure if these are in your budget but a new pair of S3 shotguns from Joe in the shorter lengths are probably not that far off from these.

The price on the older 12' T2's in the second link is beyond insane!!! That guy is smoking crack............and if they sell the buyer is smoking even more crack :D.

The older MH (Music Hose) is nice as well but typically tends to be a lot more expensive than T2's...........but you never know when a deal will come along. I used to check Audiogon and ebay 2-3 times every day for a month and finally came a cross a few excellent deals.

Yeah, don't know anything about the older Mits but on new ones Joe has some great prices. If the ones above prices are high then maybe their more of a gap on new ones than I thought.

These are some of Joe's 8' for $599. Anyway, I will keep my eyes open for some if you can say what length you are looking for.

This is the older version in the tan jacket. MIT says there is no real difference between the older versions from an email I exchanged with them.

Joe has outstanding prices no doubt!! But it has to do more with stupid sellers thinking they are going to make 75% of their money back on 7 year old or older cables.

I bought a pair of 10' T2's about a year ago for $140 shipped. That was a pretty good deal then as I mostly see them go for $175-250.

You'll just have to play the waiting game and in the case of audiogon watch things like a hawk several times a day to snatch up a good deal. Sometimes this guy has old MIT stock.

I've bought some Iconn's from him and he ships the same day you pay.

6-8 FT length is good for me, but it seems the shortest length I see MIT's are 8 FT.

Patience is a true virtue, and I'll be on the look out.

Oh, that is tempting. Conrad if you really want to try them I have a pair of older (still gray box) T2's that if I could flip then I would buy one of the pairs Joe has listed right now.

I put brand new Iconn banana's on. There is a slight cosmetic issue w/one of the ends (you don;t see it when they are connected) and they are 10 footers. If you are at all interested PM me. Not sure on a price I'd have to check what I paid but I believe I paid around $140-150 for them. I'd let them go for what I have in them..............pending getting a pair from Joe.

Ha ha, I see post #12. I paid $140 shipped. Conrad, if you're interested let me know I can get some photo's to you. The cosmetic issue is one side of the cable pants is missing on one of the ends. I was going to repair it simply for aesthetic reasons but I actually forgot about it since I don't see then ends when connected.

They are gray with gray smooth network boxes and new Iconn ends. No problem if you're not interested but thought I'd throw it out there.

Yes and no. I believe the AVT series fits in the same heirarchy that the T2's formally were in. I also believe they are similar performance wise, but I've never compared the (2) side by side.

Ask Gavin or Joe they'll give you an honest answer. But they are similarly positioned.

I had the T-2's, grey-ribbed boxes sc's for many years, you can expect a synergy with your 1C's-Anthem-T-2's,,and you may very well be satisified for many years to come.If you don't already have them, T-2 IC's in ther same rig would not hurt at all.Good luck,I'm sure that you will enjoy them.

Great I'll be close to email/polk forum thru tomorrow about noon. Then I'm heading out of town thru the weekend. I will have access to email/polk forum, but it will be bit more limited than usual.

This is a true statement. I have T2's all around and I really like them. I talked to Joe and we came to an agreement on a pair he's selling on Audiogon. So I'm sticking with T2's.
