Lots of good info here. The 80hz XO point is a good starter. One thing I have learned over the years is rooms are different. Experiment. No one can say what sounds best to you. When I first started I liked the boom of high XO points, but it was really too much for a lot of movies. LFE is to be felt and not so much heard IMHO. The 15's are very nice to 60hz with a good amp. Receivers run out of gas on the lows with LSI's. I reiterate there is no set XO point for every taste/environment, but 60-80HZ is a good start.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Aside from the speaker setting I'm finding very interesting the dramatic changes I'm getting in the sound, just by a slight change in speaker placement. While recently experimenting with settings, I move a speaker 4" more away from the back wall (9" in total), it completely changed the sound.
The interesting thing was that the speaker liked different positions with different genres of music.......go figure...

That's right. My LSi15-speakers have woofer 8". For this play with the sound and placement. It is very interesting ... if changes are dramticos. -

Cross-over your speakers to 80hz for Movies and run your Fronts full range
on Music.
Good set up IMO. All my speakers ( full range) set to small @ 80Hz for Movies. Below 80hz is mono anyway. @ 120hz I prefer running stereo subs otherwise a single sub will be localized but still too high of a setting except for mini monitors or HTIB.

Dolby explaining the LFE channel
Michael
That is a great article and explains in a way anyone can understand the difference between LFE channel and the subwoofer. I had it confused for years. This should be a sticky noteOnkyo TX-SR805
