Hey Guys,
Just wondering, but does anyone know what really the room calibrations do with the MicroPro series. I just got the 1000 today and granted its nice, but didn't seem to notice any difference between the different calibrations that are present between the cabinet, corner, ect. Right now I have mine in a corner and really didn't seem to notice a different between that and cabinet. It maybe that I still need to play with my reciever still and get that dialed in a bit more, but any advice would be cool.
Second question, I noticed that it isn't ported at all, and was thinkin' about adding a PSW505 to give a bit more boom to the system overall. Would this be a good match between the two, or do you guys think that the 505 would overpower the sound of the 1000. For being 1200 watts, it doesn't seem to me to but out putting that much, but that once again, maybe my reciever not being set up fully to what it should be yet.
I've been playing with it for about 3 hours and can't seem to find that sound I really want, but who knows, I've got all weekend so it'll be good time spent.
Thanks!

It will not have as much output as a ported sub. The micropro line will not win any spl contests but it blends very well for music. For HT you should've went with the 10" or 12" model.

    +1
Everytime I've heard something about the Micropro, it's that it plays accurately and is very tight. Something you typically look for if you want a sub for music but don't let it stop you from using it for HT.

Btw is it new/refurb? Give it some play time until it breaks in, you'll begin to hear it open up over the next few weeks and find yourself turning it down more and more. I do agree that if you want the solid weight/impact in a larger room for HT, get yourself the 10"/12" model. I just went and built my own, saved a damn lot of $$$

Ok, well I'm about a 50/50 user with HT and Music so I did want to find something that provided very accurate bass response. I acutally just got it today, but didn't buy it, my gf got it as a gift for me and she thought she did a good job because she found it for a good price and I was talking about getting one at some point.
I think its nice and responsive and thats what I like, it just seems to me the room calibrations when moved to those areas of the room don't seem to make a difference and I was just wondering what they do truely do, such as do they change the cross over point at all, or put different output to compenstate for the placement within the room? I'm just curious as I am still a newbie to this all and that I was super excited to get a nice sub as a gift.
    Thanks!

If I knew what I was doing I think building one myself would be fun but knowing my skills I would probably kill myself doing it lol. Acutally it was brand new, she found it on newegg originally 900 but they were selling it for 380.00 with 3 day shipping included so when she was here she heard me say something about them and I showed her a picture and my friend helped her find it and she got it for me because I had been looking for a sub but just didn't have the money right now.
My Mointor 70's did take a bit of break in time too but after listening to music for about 5 hours straight for 2 weeks they started to open up nice. I figure it will probably take some time for it to open up, but I'm just excited, its soo cool lookin'.
Maybe someday I can get a SVS but right now I'm happy with what I got, seeing it was a gift and it was from a gf who has no idea what she was getting me lol.
    Thanks guys!
