Hi here's what I am planning to upgrade in my system.

Existing system: Running off my Rockford Fosgate RFX9300
Infinity 6.5 Reference
Alpine 6X9 SPS

I am planning to upgrade to:
Polk MOMO 6.5 Components
Cadence 6X9 (150 RMS)

So here's my question, what amp or multiple amps would you guys suggest for running this setup? Also do you guy's this upgrade will make a difference? Why and why not. Why trying to stick with Cadence but it really doesn't matter what brand.

My Cadence Z9000 is comming this week to power my MM124. Can't wait to hook it up and test it out!

since I'm an owner of infinity ref 2-ways...and I personaly have not met an infinity tweeter that I have liked- I think the front upgrade will be quite an improvement. Polk is comming out with momo 6x9's...I'd say wait for those..that way your fronts/rears will match....I 'd look at @ a 100x4 rms amp to run them.

I'm sure others will jump in..

Cadence Z8000 for the front (175 x 2 -- its 25 x 2 more than u need, but **** man you can use it.... juice is good)...

Cadence Q2000 for the rear (65 x 2 -- you dont want the rear overpowering the front... you want them like "1/2" volume of the front... 65 x 2 should be PLENTY)

    I run roughly 160+ x 2 (detuned 180 x 2) and 50 x 2 in back (again, gains turned down on a 70 x 2 amp).

That should do a few things for u...
1- keep allthe same amp mfg and case style, which is gonna look really good and impress people.
2- give u good clean power as cadence amps are pretty darn up there on the food chain.
3- give u the proper power dispersements.

4 channels are good, but u have to compromise... i mean.. if u get a 100 x 4 chanel then you're starving your fronts and over feeding your rears.

if you get a 165 x 4 channel then you're giving enough to your fronts but your'e gonna have to thave the gain virtually at zero for the rears and you've spend a shitload of money to get this HUGE amp that does way more power than u need for the rear stage and is probably bulky as hell.

two two channels look and will function better. as you'd be tailoring your needs specifically for the front and rear.

I wish polk components came in dual 4 ohm / or 2 ohm coil modes cuz then you could get smaller amps that did 175 x 2 at 2ohms... those are easy to come by for dirt cheap. (cuz they're only like 85 x 2 in 4 ohm stereo).

whgatever u do -- dont buy an mtx 6304 -- EEK!

Infinity Reference Series 6-1/2" Speakers 652i
recommended power range 2-60 watts RMS

    Alpine SPS-6939S 6"x9" 3-way Speakers
recommended power range 2-30 watts RMS

If I am running my current speakers, will there be an advantage to adding a amp? What are the advantages? I am looking for cleaner, very louder sound.

I was looking at a Cadence Q4000 to run all of them. Would that work or just give me your opinion.

im not sure about the specs on the amp...but like pbd said, youre either going to be over powering or underpowering one set of speakers
unless its a 4 channel rated at 60wx4 rms
then u could just turn the gain down on the rear speakers
but an amp will make ur speakers sound better at lower and higher listening levels
so yeah...if you buy aftermarket speakers...might as well buy an amp too
but for amp if its a 4 channel...then it should be a 60x4 at 4 ohms...anything bigger....dont really need...anything smaller...ur going to under power your speakers

Okay good the Cadence Q4000 is a 60X4 amp. So I might just get that amp and keep my current setup. Thanks and keep the suggestions comming.

you can probably dump 100 x 2 on the fronts if you x them 100 - 120 ... thats just a guess tho. dont take it for anything more than that.

    i dunno man... if u do the speakers u have no - cody's is right -- a 4 channel.

that's the dillema i'm facing w/ my girls car as we speak... she doesn't want anything bigger than the polk 5.25" dx's up front and she wants them down at like 60 hertz x-ed... so i can't really put more than 65-ish on them before it starts to break up like hell.

I had wanted to x them high and bridge the 204 so that it did like 150 x 2 bridged. but they'd have have nothing for the rears .. cuz i'm **** broke and cant buy anymore crap.

if u get the momo cmps and the new rears -- do the amps i suggested or something similar, you'll be very pleased.... if u stick with what u got -- get like a good quality 65 x 4 or a medium grade 75 x 4 (assuming it'll do a 'good 65' before it breaks up).
