www.goodguys.com no longer has them
www.circuitcity.com has them sold out most everywhere I can find

this has gotta be the prelude to the LSi

    None of this seems right.

Inventory out or very low on the RTi line, and special pricing for the RTi 55 35 and 25's as we get closer to the Christmas shopping season. All this right before the promised November release of the LSi's

    But..

Where is the special pricing for the matching Center channels and Surrounds??

    And..

Do you think Polk will "REPLACE" the RTi line with the LSi's?
The LSi's are in a higher price level, better finish and drivers and such, it is not apples for apples.

If there is no RTi line, what will Polk offer for the Joe six packs of the world, BTW I am a card carrying Joe six packer.

It is possible Polk is taking a new direction and leaving the Circuit City's of the world, and returning to the "High End" dealer network. I would be be suprised as hell if they completely leave the Audio Enthusiast with nothing. By that I mean, there are alot of customers willing to pay RTi price levels, but fewer who will pay LSi line prices, Polk has a new plant to pay for, and reduced sales does not pay the bills.

I hope Polk can remove the "gag order" and let Micah tell us what is going on... is it just our wild imagination running away with us?

    Micah you have the floor
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

...not sure what is going on with the RT line although, my CC has plenty of all of them so I hear....

While there may be some changes to the RT line, I doubt very, very seriously that Polk will abandon it. Polk is a pretty mainstream company and to just abandon that and tarry with the high end only is suicidal. The Polk folks just plain aren't that dumb.

We may see some changes to the RTi line which would explain the low stock and cut pricing but I would bet you won't see it go away.

You guys gotta calm the heck down! Micah already told you the RTi line, including the RTi55, are not being replaced. They're probably doing an evolutionary, rather than revolutionary, change to the line, or possibly just select speakers. I believe we saw similar price breaks when they made the move from the RT to the RTi line. Again, those were not drastic changes, just continuing to improve the product.

Then what is this evolution? I know I'd be mad had I bought a normal RT a month before the RTi's came out because I love the maple tint / shade uhhhh grane?

If they blabbed everything then it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it? I mean, they are running a business....

I would disagree and say the reverse might also be true. I.E. When the RTi line replaced the RT line, poof!, no more RT7, which IMHO is the best bookshelf that Polk has made.

Things change, that is just the way it is.

I have noticed a boatload of them on ebay of late....I was thinking of a pair for the office, HOWEVER, if this DQ-10 deal goes down, not a chance. BTW, the dude called and is having the amp fixed....

I was just commenting on your spelling and grammar....like I said, I have little room to talk.

The only the wrong with a Texas-style **** whooping would be if you were on the recieving end.

No avoidance at all. I'm right here. See?

This issue has been addressed in other posts and threads.

(Thank you Aaron.) Nothing radical, don't worry. If you find em at a good price, I'd buy em if I were you.

this is now getting to be like beating a dead horse. Change is inevitable. It doesn't make the current line any worse, if you have been wanting a pair, go get 'em. Otherwise, stick around and wait and see.

    Juice21,

Just wondering if you could order a pair from your local audio /hifi stores in your area? where I live (canada) some of the stores didnot carry the rt800i's and if they did, they didnot have them in the color that I wanted.....so I got them to order a pair in cherry and now I have them for about seven months and they sound and look pretty GOOD!

I called polk about this last week and I was told they were changing the RT series and I have heard they are changing the F/X series, but the person at polk I talked to knew nothing about this. I was also told the LSI series is a completely seperate line. I hope this helps.
