so i'm looking for a sub amp. checking out pa1200.1 and i see its subsonic is at 30hz. this doesn't limit your low end at all? like, mac (and others i'm sure), u use this amp eh? for competitions, with LP set to like 40 or 50hz? so its playing like 10 hz freq. range? maybe more cause of slopes, but u also use sharp slopes right? first thought was probably not big problem but thought i'd check it out, see what u guys who are using it say..

Depending on where you cut off your mids, you only want your sub to play from say 20hz to that point. So if you cut off your mids at say 50hz then you want your sub to play from 20-50hz. Forget the sub sonic and let the frequencies below 20hz roll off naturally.

If you want good imaging and staging, you will want your sub bass presentation from the front, The bass hits should come from the centre top of your dash, maybe a bit higher. If your sub plays anything higher than 70-80hz the sub gets located at the rear. So cutting the sub at 50hz on say a 36db slope mens that it would play 1 octave up ie 100hz at 36db lower than 50, hence you would not hear 100 from the sub but from your mid.

Yes, keep the subsonic filter off. The sub 30 Hz range is what gives you the rumbling feeling. Most music doesnt have much information below 30 Hz but if you listen to music that does, it wont be the same without it.

sealed box playing 20hz is a thing to be experienced.

below 20 and it's rumored that it does strange stuff to women 'down there'.

just a lil tip: a lot of low bass can reall y mess up stuff in yer car. trunk bolts sometimes run loose. electrical contacts on your dash may give problems. my indicator stick messed up once with all the constant bass. got it fixed tho.
