Just gaging interest for a genuine Burr Brown DAC evaluation board for their excellent and very popular PCM1792.See first 3 pic's in this link.
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72911&highlight=burr+brown+pcm1792
The Karma is for the DAC board only,to be a functional unit the winner will have to supply the chassis and power supply sections, connectors etc.For this reason only those with the ability to build such qualify as well you should have been here atleast a year and have > 500 posts and reside in Canada or the US.(Sorry previous recipients of DAC boards from me don't qualify at this time,.:)).The winner will be determined by a draw or picking a number between 1-100.

note.I used this board for only a short period of time, during which it emitted a periodic popping sound that I was unable to track down the cause of.May have been a grounding issue with the digital input section or a switch setting but not sure?Anyway it should be a fun little experimental piece for DiY'ers.

Wow! Very cool Karma. I am in. :D

If I win, this board will be built and the finished DAC will be made available for Polkies to Demo. However, I don't know how long it will take to complete the project! :)

On 2nd thought, I don't think I should be in. I am newb here (less than a year). Sorry GV! I just looked at my joining date and I am less than a year old. :D

    It's no denying I do posts a lot. :D

Thanks GV for letting me in the draw. :) DAC Eval boards are an excellent way to experience the DAC first hands.

    Your welcome
Eval boards are an excellent way to experience the DAC first hands.
Yes and this particular chip is used in numerous highly regarded DAC's and CDP's.If fed from good power supplies this eval board will result in very good SQ even with the stock 5532 op amps.

As expect the response is low but I will give it until monday or tuesday then put the names in a hat.

Sweet Karma. The board is very fun to work with for sure. I only have the pop noise with no signal, and the SQ is better than the Adcom GDA-700 I had. Easy sockets to replace the OpAmps makes this a nice chip rolling piece.
    Again very fun.
    Thanks GV.
