I need one of these for my brothers 2.3's, I was over working on his furnace and listening to his 2.3's and noticed some scratchy sounds coming from the left speaker. Shut it down and gently pushed in each driver and found the culprit, the lower sda driver sounds like it needs some oil!:(

    best suggestion would be e-bay or a new one from Polk CS but new ones don't match exactly

    Why don't the new ones match? Is it sonically or cosmetically or both? To me, they should match exactly because you are buying from the same company that made them in the first place.

    To me this is crap. I followed the links in your post above and Polk should have made the drivers look the same, at least put the notches in the rubber surround at the screw holes. I know now not to order a replacement MW from Polk. I would look in the used market. I will definitely be gentile on my current drivers.

    Considering that the speakers are nearly 20 years old, you should be thankful that Polk is supporting them at all.
