Oh man, my shipment just arrived.

Its gonna be a good friday nite.

Cant wait to get outta work.

I'll try not to cut my ear off :)

This is a French bottle which are suppose to be one of the better, more cleaner Absinthes from all of my research. Czech's are among the worse although very high Alcohol %.

I'll report back next week sometime :)

I have had a few, the most beign Czech. They have a slight taste of Anise with a twist of black licorce. Its all on the preperation with cold water and sugar cubes to really enjoy it.

The Jade is one of theeee best IMO. If your gonna be a bear. Be a grizzly.

BTW although it is not legal to sell the "real" stuff, it is however legal to have shipped and possess in the USA.

Edit you are in Canada. Not sure they laws up there.

So that bottle is finished. Had a very strong aniseed flavor and was one of the more strong ones i have had but the buzz was great and gave me a case of the silly giggles. :)

So my international co-workers just arrived today and they both brought me presents. I would have wished for 2 different bottles but was just pure coincidence they picked the same brand. I will not complain for free stuff :)

    Next up

    TABU (German)

    Stay tuned.....

I tried some if this stuff not too long ago.

    GrandeAbsente.jpg

Not bad, although I can't compare it with anything else yet.
There's another legal brand locally I'm looking to try, Philadelphia something or other....

By the way the hallucinogenic effects of the wormwood have been basically debunked. Most of the 'hype' from absinthe was seeded by those that wanted it banned and they were successful. From what I read most of the issues were likely because some fool drank the stuff undiluted (like 138 proof):eek: like Van Gogh.

See pics in post 4. I had some that was 92% = 184 proof. And yeah i was seeing ****...

Other stuff you wont hallucinate. Its more of a body buzz to me. History channel had a good doc on it. Google it and will give you alot of insight.

Bear, you can legally get the stuff imported from overseas. The US versions i have had are Garbage IMO. Lucid is a good one.
