This just in...

Sansui SP-2000 in original boxes. I haven't taken them out of the boxes yet but if they look as good as everything else, some local Sansui freak is going to be very happy. Believe it or not, these things retailed for $1,200 when new.

Fisher Tubed AM/FM tuner - In the original box, looks like new.

Sony TD-560D Reel recorder - original box.

Almost forgot, a pair of AR-4x's that have never been out of the boxes.

There's more but I am awaiting its arrival. It'll be at least an integrated amp and what they THINK is a pristine pair of AR-5's, just about my favorite loudspeaker of all-time.

And about 4,000,000 rekkids.

Not a bad day so far.

If you ever decide to part with the AR-4x speakers, please keep me in mind. I would love to have a pair to replace mine which are inoperable right now. They were my first "good" speaker.

Shack, XOXOXOXOXOXOX, but these are as good as part of my AR museum.

I'll keep my eyes open for another pair for you though. It was AR's bread and butter speaker. They sold more of these than anything else, ever.

I figured as much...but you never know until you ask.

BTW...the check is in the mail...

George, I've seen some of that Sansui equipment that you're talking about. A fellow Polk Forum member (beemers417) has a shop in Pittsburgh (www.vintagehifipgh.com) that I frequent quite often.

Well, I never heard a Sansui speaker that I can say I liked, but there's an awful lot of people out there swear by them, and I am determined to find one of those people who is also well-to-do. I think it'll be a match made in heaven (me, them, the speakers).

I have a real itch to see what was driving these things. And I want those AR-5's too. I already have a nice pair. You experience 4 of those in a room with a Dynaco Quadaptor and some decent amplification, you won't forget that experience.
