i just had some polk ex365 2-way speakers installed in the front doors of my 2002 civic; they are powered by an old clarion 1000a (50w x2). in the rear i have some leftover pioneer 3-way ts-a1675 speakers powered by a us acoustics 2075 amp (75w x2). i'm currently using the honda head unit (cassette only). on the way home from the installer (crutchfield), i noticed that the treble was very bright, that the mid-range seemed to be missing, and that increased volume did not seem to increase the level of the sound. in fact, at what i would have thought was a normal volume, my ears actually began to hurt unless i lowered the treble and bass quite a bit. the car sounded great at the installer (with the doors open and windows down). anyone have any ideas? all of the components (except the polks) are in the trunk where i can access them. thank you.

Crutchfield sells a few test cd's I think the 103 is called "my disc" and has a phase id track on it. There is also 4 other test disc that they sell. I think one was for car audio. Check their site.
