Third Quarter Githens Report

Between AK and Club Polk, calendar year '09 donations are, $2,321 in checks made out to Githens, $2,600+ in the account I dump all the checks made out to me into. In early to mid December, I will write a check to Githens for whatever is in that account minus $5. I don't recall last year's figure for checks made out to Githens, but I'm certain it has been eclipsed. As far as the check I write around Christmas, last year's check was for $2,100, so that barrier has already been SMASHED, with a few months left to go.

Thank you.

Thanks George. You mention between AK and CP donations, I do not remember seeing anything about donating. How does one go about making a donation from CP?

You buy vinyl or audio from me, the money goes to Githens.

I do not want to solicit donations here. I try to provide a service, and I donate the proceeds from that service to MY favorite charity. Checks made out directly to Githens but mailed to me, is an idea that I had to increase sales. All those checks are tax-deductible, which I hoped would provide added incentive for people to buy. They did. It was also a convenient way for me to have to eat the shipping charges, as most people would write the entire check for both vinyl and shipping out to Githens. A program that I'm not in love with anymore.

I'd buy from you regardless of tax deduction. I don't make enough to take more than a standard deduction anyway. Would you consider openning a paypal account? A majority of my spending cash comes from online sales and hits paypal anyway, so I'm much more inclined to send you the play money I never really had than a check anyway and while I don't care where it goes, since it's not my money once I exchange it forgoods or services, I'd much rather buy from you than give my money away to Half Price Books or a private thriftstore for questioable vinyl.

Oh oh!!! Someone said the "p" word in George's thread. Since you are relatively new you may be forgiven this transgression but I must tell you George hates the "p" word. Why? His business not mine.

George...glad to be a small part in something so cool.

Do not go off half-cocked thinking EVERYBODY can write a check to Githens and get vinyl from me. That is not the case. I allowed long-time, hard-core buyers to write their checks directly to Githens. If I let everybody do that, this operation would collapse very quickly due to a lack of funds. Paypal is out of the question. I LIKE being a dinosaur.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Wasn't a matter of modern convenience, or a purposeful personal attack, it's just where my funds are. Keep being awesome in your own way.

I'll use the word in a business meeting or conference call today; I worked in "douchbaggery" the other day, so why not.
You do sell your vinyl to anyone though, or just long-standing polkies?
