I have my x-overs back from Ben, the only problem is that i have misplaced the diagram i made of how to hook the wiring back up. Now i know there is a wiring schematic on the forum for the sda-srs, but this might as well be in chinese because i have no idea what it is telling me. basically the srs has black/white wiring for the stereo array and blue/white for the dimensional array. i have white hooked up to the - terminals for everything, and blue and black to the + for everything. same for the tweets, white -, colors for +. Just want to make sure this is correct. there is a diagram of a 1.2tl that shows the right speaker and the stereo array has the - or white terminating on the right side of the speaker. on all of the array drivers on my srs there is a red dot, which i assume denotes +. So, maybe the 1.2tl array drivers are different or i have mine hooked up wrong. I appreciate any help that the forum gives me. also a pic of the x-over. great job by Ben:)

I got this from looking at the SDA SRS schematic and wiring diagrams. I assume you have this model from your post.
You should be connected OK as long as you have the proper positive color wires going to the correct # tweeter. (They probably only reach where they belong.)
Red dot on speaker denotes the Positive terminal.
Stereo Array; Black is Pos / White is Neg
SDA Array; Blue is Pos / Green is Neg
Tweeters; White would be Neg
Make sure you connect positive wires to correct tweeter. Red to T1 (top tweet) / Blue to T2 / Yellow to T3 / Green to T4 (bottom tweet)
Run through the SDA test procedures after you get them working.
Use only the diagrams for your specific model. The 1.2TL is different in that the Pos & Neg wires are reversed at the speaker to correct the phasing which was reversed by the crossover circuit. Connecting the wires to the speakers "incorrectly" or out of phase, corrected this.Mains; SDA 1.2TL Silk Domes, upgraded xover, biamped w/DBX BX1 200wpc

great. thanks for the reassurance that I have done this correctly. the only difference i see is that i have no green wire, it is blue and white, which i assume is the same difference. thanks again.

just for kicks please explain what this means. -

I understand the black and blue part, have no idea why it shows the wiring running in the directions it is though. Pleas explain. thanks -
I'm not sure what you are saying. If you look at the bottom of the drawing you see the wires coming from the crossover and the route they need to go.Pio Elete Pro 520

Irbristow....I'd give up if I were you, this sounds totally hopeless and you will end up just being frustrated and frying your crossover. Just send them over to me and I'll give you my stock SRS crossovers along with some detailed pictures of how to put it all back.

that's ok, i appreciate the offer though;) I guess the part of the diagram i do not understand is the why there is only one wire on a couple of the drivers. I am satisfied that they are hooked back up correctly, especially after richcando verified the way i hooked them up:D I just have a few questions to make sure that is the case. -
one more question while we are on the subject. when i bought the speakers i was not getting the cancellation signal from the left speaker, now when i stand if front of the speakers i notice a significant difference between the sda array and the stereo array, even more so on the left speaker. just want to make sure this is normal also. thanks for the help fellow polkies:)

With regards to the sound you are getting now, that can also be normal, depending on room placement and other factors. I would check each speaker and verify they are phased correctly. If they are, check placement and if all is good, grab a beer and enjoy the music! The Gear... The photo vmaxer sent will only confuse you as the wires you connect to the speaker may not look like the photo. Photo shows some speakers have 4 wires connected to them. I assume you only have 2 wires going to each speaker. (I no longer have SRS'S so do not know what the actual wire harness looks like.) The wires may actually connect as in vmaxer's photo, but the connections would be at the connector attached to the xover, or in the xover circuit.
ibristo, you wrote "I guess the part of the diagram i do not understand is the why there is only one wire on a couple of the drivers." - - I do not know where you see only one wire. vmaxer's photo shows each speaker has either 2 or 4 wires connected to it!
If you only have 2 wires going to each speaker you will be OK using my 1st post. I believe you already had them connected correctly.
If you do not have a green wire, then white, or white with a blue stripe, is what you probably have. All would be Negative.
Schematics and wiring diagrams may seem to show different "routing" of the wires than the way speaker wiring is actually routed. These drawings are made to simlify understanding the complete circuit and sometimes can only be drawn a certain way, or are just drawn the easiest way. Connections are still the same regardless of "routing" shown. Some wiring diagrams may show the actual wire routing, schematics do not.Mains; SDA 1.2TL Silk Domes, upgraded xover, biamped w/DBX BX1 200wpc

See if this helps....it did for me!!
I fully understand that too, but I can see how it would be confusing. Top two are parallel, and bottom two. Both sets are tied together in series.
Thanks for the pic it will help me tell him via phone;)

Ben -
thanks for the help. yep my arrays go from top to bottom, one blk and one white separate, two blk one blk and white, two blk and two white, then one blk and one white on the bottom array. stereo array is the same except blue not black. they sound very good, and this is with maybe ten hours of burn in time. Hey ben, i am just looking for a little knowledge, and to be sure i have done this correctly. It sounds to me like everything is ok. Now that you say the top and bottom are in parallel this makes more sense. like i was saying, i know very little as far as electrical anything, so schematics do not really tell me anything since i do not have this knowledge.
-
Wait till you get around 400hrs on them. The sonicaps do go through a roller coaster during burnin. Good then bad then good then bad then sweet;)
Glad you enjoy them. Sorry about the delay. I have a present for you around Christmas. Pleasure talking to you. Send addy/call early in December.
Take care.
Thanks

I love it when expensive electronic parts go all unstable for a while then change for the best and end up working great after some time.'65 427 Shelby Cobra
