Tube buffers are a great alternative!!

I just bought a Grant Fidelity Tube buffer, Running it between my pre and amp for my fronts and I could not be happier, I know its not the same as an acutal tube amp but its a great inexpensive alternative... I saw the same one I have on CL for around 150-200. plus very easy to hook up.

I have came across awsome reviews on the grant

could the grant be fed between the cd player and integrated amp?

Would there still be an improvement if it was fed between a receivers pre and amp for the powerd zone 2?

You made the comment that most of the Chinese amps are junk. Then, which ones aren't junk? Do you have a tangible explanation for your claim that most of them are junk?

I ask not to get into a pissing contest, but I have read on Audio Karma about a few that are considered to be gems and great "bang for the buck".

It's called GOOGLE......ever heard of it. It will point you to places like Audiogon discussion, Tubes Asylum, Audio Karma, etc.,etc. that will give real user info and feedback. It's a crap shoot buying from a Chinese dealer........you never know what you're getting and if it is DOA or you do have an issue with it, who's going to fix it? And are you willing to spend $200 to ship it back to China?

Dared, Ming Da, Bada, Shanling and some others have a decent track record especially since they can be bought thru US distributors who will back up the unit.

I have two different Dared tube products and they have been outstanding so far but they are also fairly expensive units compared to some other "cheap" Chinese stuff.

To answer the bold text..............re-read my posts I neve said ALL Chinese gear was junk............just most of it. Reading comprehension on this board lately is abysmal.

Ah, I see you represent your user name well...I guess Google is now the end all in understanding quality audio gear. Your technical expertise in audio equipment might possibly surpass your reading level. If you could exercise a little reading comprehension, you would have noticed that I asked if you could give a tangible explanation for your comment that "most Chinese amps are junk". I guess I wrongly assumed that you would provide a technically competent dissertation on why most Chinese amps are junk.

This could have been avoided if you hadn't come across as a pompous, pretentious a$$hole and answered my question with a little maturity and common manners.

Some people just try to be smarter than they are and end up being rude . I agree wholeheartedly that we are only here to share the voice of our own thoughts and opinions . This is the whole point of a forum that if some one asks a question we share . There would be no point in having a forum if people just respond telling to google i

With the status of polk guru you should be representing the forum better and have a little more restraint

No offence, I'm just saying heiney9

I say H9 is right on the ball. Except for a few reputable brands, try finding support if your amp has an issue or even arrives damaged.

I see where this is going. Thick skin hasn't got dick to do with it. There is just no need to give a smartass answer to a legitimate question. I guarantee that he wouldn't have spoken to me that way in person.

What is so wrong with courtesy and manners?

Why do you want me to do your leg work for you? Do it yourself. I haven't kept every link to poor Chinese gear issue's. Start at Tubes Asylum and expect to spend a couple weeks on Google and you'll get the answers you need.

I researched before buying my Dared pieces. I'd say I did some leg work over a 2-3 week period before I made my choices. Your choices maybe different. As a whole Chinese gear has poor quality control, use substandard parts and some of the circuit designs are questionable as far if they are the best choice for reproducing audio. All it takes is time in front of the computer to make a educated choice.

Again, why should I give you a dissertation and detailed info when I'm sure you're perfectly capable of doing it yourself. I took mental notes and don't have a treasure chest of links, quotes, and feedback.

If that's being a Dick as you say............then so be it.

Seems there's a lot of overly butt-hurt noobs recently...

I ask a lot of questions, too... but as long as you don't expect to be spoon-fed every imaginable detail, and don't take the internet too seriously, i don't see why butt-hurt should even enter a conversation.
