Anybody else a fan of scatting? The only real example of it I'm familiar with is towards the end of "Rag Doll", but it's very awesome. It just doesn't last long enough. :(

I need to expand and find more songs with scatting in them. Do you have a favorite example of scatting? What are some other songs to look to?

    Oh wow. Upon further googling I have discovered what you are alluding to. And after throwing up a little in my mouth...and more in the toilet...

    I'm interested in songs that have the old-time, jazz-based vocal form of scatting in them, similar to that displayed in Aerosmith's "Rag Doll".

    There, is that more specific? :D

    The most famous "scat" singer I know of is Cab Calloway : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cab_Calloway

    Lots of those old jazz singers did it. Louis Armstrong too.

    Yeah, I found a few songs by Calloway, but I was more looking for something modern. I really dig the scatting, but I for me it doesn't fit with the rest of the song in Calloway's case. I guess it's just really not that popular anymore. :(

    Also, for some more recent jazz scat, try some New York Voices. They tend to throw in some good scat on a lot of their songs. One that comes to mind is A Mother and Child Reunion.

    Ok... PHEW. I get worried anytime anyone says that they actually like that. It's really only good for comic relief. The dude has talent, but why he decided to do what he did is beyond me.
