New place, new placement, new pics

Well, the girlfriend and i got back together, and got a new place. Nice 1 bedroom apartment while we wait for my next raise and a real job for her.

Here's some pictures of the best part of the apartment, naturally:

View from behind the couch as you come from the bedroom. Yes, that's a real wood fireplace. Strange feature in an apartment.



The rack. Waiting to get a tv so i can play Guitar Hero again.



Couch, and one of the rear surrounds. Not hooked up yet, waiting on a TV and to find a center channel. Paradigm Titan V.3s.



The Esprit V.3s. About 7 feet between them. They are hooked up, the speaker cable happened to just fit underneath the wall trim.

Thanks! I know i have to do some wire management, but i'm still swapping stuff in and out to see what i'll want to keep in there, so i haven't worried about it a whole lot yet.

I'm debating getting a new rack, one not so tall, but a lot wider, and putting it between the speakers, but i'm not real worried about right now. I just like things to be symetrical, and this is rather bugging me right now with the rack off to the side.

Only got about 4 hours on it so far.... But so far, so good. I'm not positive that it was an "upgrade" but it's different, and not in a bad way. Highs are better, imaging might be slightly better (not sure, though, haven't a/b'd in the new place yet), but it's lacking some low end "fatness" that the Adcom had.

Loving the remote, though.

I'll bring it down with me when we visit, and we can play with it. It's a neat little unit.

Added in the Mirage Omni S8 last night, crossed over at 80hz. Sounds GREAT! I'm psyched to go home and listen some more, still have another couple tweaks to try. Going to spike the Paradigms and see what that gets me.

The S8 blended seamlessly with the Esprits, and now they just sound like a pair of HUGE floorstanders, no flat spots or anything.

New upgrade coming Friday! Time to move up to some "big boy" speakers. Kinda. "Big boy" compared to what i've got now.

Those paradigms look small in there (and next the that rack) but I thought they were similar dimensions to the RTA11TL's?

They are similar in dimensions.... Very slightly smaller overall. They're a ported speaker, so they can get away with it. I actually got rid of the 11TLs. The only Polks i have left are my Monitor 7Cs again. They just didn't sound "right" with my components. For whatever reason, the Canadian speakers seem to work better with my stuff.

The room i think is around 12x16 i think. Not positive, i'd have to measure it. Unfortunately, it's not a perfect rectangle. It's got some 45 degree angles from the fireplace, and the little area where the rack is sitting right now.

The "Big boys" are in my sig right now. You're more than welcome to come take a listen whenever you'd like. The Paradigm Monitor 7s. Nothing HUGE, but it's a night and day difference from the Esprits, and i definitely don't consider them to be a slouch themselves. Trying to find another M5150 so i can play around with bi-amping. Should hold me over until i have the money to try some Studio Series floorstanders.
