Dynaco SCA-80?

Anyone have any experience with this amp? Someone near me has one that they will part with, but ive got no idea what its worth. He says it does have 'a bit of noise' whatever that may mean, he asked me to make an offer.

Any help is appreciated and thanx in advance.

You can search completed auctions on eBAY and see what people have been willing to pay for them. It's nothing special; the Dynaco tube equipment was quite nice, but with the arguable exception of the ST-416 amplifier (designed by James Bongiorno later of SAE, GAS, and Sumo fame) their solid state stuff was pretty forgettable.

The noise could be dirty controls or hiss that's intrinsic and/or due to failing components (passives or transistors).

I have a couple... Interestingly enough, they both sound different from each other.

They're a decent little unit to play around with. I'd offer like... $50 if it's in good shape.
