Hello everyone,
Has anyone heard any sonic difference between the Audioquest Type 4 and the CV-4 (42dbs) speaker cables?
I was wondering what the DBS was all about. Does that feature really make a diff.?

I have both. I do hear a difference between the sets, but it is not huge. The sound stage is more defined, mids and highs are more pronounced. You can get MIT shotguns used near the price of the CV4's. There are some Polkies in your area. Hopefully they will chime in.
    Take care.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

It would be interesting to A/B the Type4 and the CV4/8's with whatever BP that comes. I have read from some rather respected folk [not experienced] that the differences are not much between the series.

    I currently have 2 pair of the CV8's w/the 72v BP.

Currently I run 12g. with 12g. jumpers. I was wondering if the solid core cable was a better investment. If I ran a single run, what would be a good jumper size? Would "bigger" be better, or a smaller gauge like 14 be better for the highs?

If you would like to try out a pair of AQ Type 4's there are a pair available on this site for member evaluation.

I tried the AQ Type 4s and was impressed with their SQ upgrade over the speaker cables I was running at the time, then I saw a set of AQ CV-4/48dbs cables up for sale on agon - and was not disappointed.

Tier wise - the CV-4s are a step up in the AQ product line up

If you are patient and persistent, you could pick up a used set of CV-4s for about the price you would pay for new Type 4s - that is what I did.

    And for the moment - I'm content....:D
