How much space do I need for a ICE amp?

Hi,
I am new to your forum but I do own all Polk speakers now anyway. In no small part because of this forum. :D
I have a question about the ICE amps I keep reading about on this forum.
I am a Pioneer Elite SC-27 with the ICE amp because I have had heat issues in the past with the Onkyos that I have owned. Nothing special, I just feel it is time to move on to another brand is all and Pioneer seems to get some of the best ratings I have read on line. Especially the Elite series of receivers.
The new entertainment center my wife bought me has only a couple of inches avilable on the top of the receiver where it will be installed. I am wondering if this will be enough air space for the new ICE amp to keep it cool?
I have central AC, and the design of the new center is open on all sides, just glass shelves really, but the bottom shelf is wood and is the only one made to handle the weight of a big receiver.
Do you think there will be a problem with heat installing the SC27 with only 2 inches of head room? My viewing room is always between 65-70 degrees all summer long. And the Receiver would be sitting less than 2 feet from a main AC vent in the floor.
I never had a problem in this location in the past with my Onkyos in an enclosed cabinet, (but I did cut the back out of it for better ventilation.) However it was still contained on the other three sides with a shelf aprox 6" above it. It is in the new center now and I am not having any heat issues with it at this time, so I kind of figured it would be ok for the new Pioneer SC27 as well, but I thought I would ask.
Also the cheapest SC-27 I have found has been on line for aprox $1500.00 including shipping and no sales tax. Does this sound like a good price to you? I know some of you get some amazing deals, but I never seem to find receivers for the prices I find stated on here. It seems I am always too late.
I have read your posts for some time now and I believe this is the right place to ask this question as this place seems to have ALL the answers.
Thank you in advance for your advice.:D

Welcome to Club Polk, Shooter:) To answer your question, I just want to clarify that your new ent. center is like the attachment below?
If so, then I wouldn't sweat it. As long as the heat can be moved in some other direction, you should be good to go.
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

I didn't have much room over my AVR in my cabinet and what I did was get a small computer power supply ($5) from a Computer Recycler and then added a side-flow fan (low dB) like they sell to cool Graphics cards, over the top of the receiver. Can't even hear it and the air blowing over top and sucks the heat out. My receiver stays cool to the touch, even after 'crankin' for a couple of hours.

    Welcome to the Club!
I have one of the previous versions of the Elite receivers. I have the same setup, wood cabinet with a shelf just 2" above the receiver... I cut open the back of the cabinet and installed a low db computer fan, works very well. In your case it is wide open on all sides, you should have NO issues.
