The situation is as follows,
I recently did an install for a gent who was upgrading from a venerable Yamaha amp to something with full HDMI support, choosing the TX-SR806.
The system is essentially 4 Polk RTi A3s, the big (2x6.5") Monitor series Center, a pair of Paradigm Servo 15s and to round it all out, a pair of older Paradigm Reference series towers attached to a Carver 700w 2ch power amp.
The setup is straightforward, the bookshelves are hooked up to the Onkyo's Zone1, and the Carver is connected to the Zone1 Fl & Fr Line Out.
Here's where the problem starts; there is essentially 10-12dB less volume on the Onkyo's pre-out than there was on the Yamaha. The Paradigm speakers were blaring with the gain on the Carver just over 40% when hooked up to the Yamaha's pre-out but there was hardly anything when hooked up to the Onkyo.
Is there a hidden setting somewhere on board the 806 that this can be adjusted?
