I know there are a bunch of our friends down there in harm's way around Atlanta and am hoping those on higher ground are looking out for those on lower ground.

The video on Fox is frightening. 2 feet of water in less than a day

Thanks for the update. These are good guys and it would be a shame if something bad happened to any one of them. I'm keeping them in my thoughts and prayers.

Ben's fine. He has been posting here:

I'm fine too. Our house is high and dry. Many many around us are not so lucky. Virtually every road leading out away from our house is flooded and impassable.
This is a pictures about a mile down the road from me. Notice the power lines in comparison to the water level.

The one we need to worry about is Russ. He is out further west where it really was bad.

I dispatch for over thirty water extraction vans and these two days and nights have been pure hell. Not a single wink of sleep here in the ATL.

Glad to hear you are ok too. I'm sure you will be busy for at least a week. Hopefully you can get some sleep soon.

Yuppers... I'm fine and dry. The thirty or so guys for which I dispatch haven't been so lucky. On one hand, the business is coming in fast and furious. On the other, it's becoming pretty much impossible to cover. From Newnan to Buford to Canton to Stockbridge to Villa Rica to Conyers is a lot of ground to cover.

    I'm really, really tired.

I'm doing fine here on the southeast GA cost. We haven't got much rain down here the last week or so. My family still lives in north GA though, but luckily they have not encountered any floading. I spoke with my mom and she said there was lots of downed trees but little floading. My folks live about 60 miles north of Atlanta in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Unless you are in a river valley, it very rarely floods up there. I sure do hope everyone is safe and staying out of harms way.

Based on where most of my business is going, I think Powder Springs, Marietta, and Kennesaw saw the worst of it.

My parents, aunt and uncle, grandmother, and grandfather are all high and dry, but being in Douglas County, they have no water and there well over 100 roads that are impassable or closed for structural reasons.

I believe Douglas County is under advisory to boil all water. Same with Paulding County...
Being from the Ohio Valley, I didn't think twice about the amount of rain coming down. Kind of like someone from Minnesota passing off six inches of snow as a mere dusting. I had NO idea it would turn into this.

I'm still at the office trying to get my guys through alternate routes and blocked off roads. I wish I had a better cell phone plan. Next month's bill is going to be out the roof.

I heard but never tried it myself so just my $.02. Before bill comes in call and go to a higher plan, get the next bill and pay it. After just call and go back to a cheaper plan.

If it's anything like me upgrading my Verizon texting plan, it doesn't. I caught that I was going over my 500 texts/mo, so I bumped it up to 1500... still got charged $40 overages, plus the cost of the 500 text plan, AND the next months 1500/mo plan.
