Yup, so my grandpas NNBS truck got stolen sometime before 6am.
Its his work truck with all his tool accumulated through the years in it.
He called the popo around 6-7, they asked if he had onstar. He wasnt sure if it was still activated, evidently it was. Onstar has since told the police where it was and it is recovered...only thing is we dont know where it was at or what police dept. has it...lol.
Im curious how the hell you hotwire one of these things to get it to start without the key. Its hard enough for us to put aftermarket remote starts in these things. And especially if youre smart enough to know how, I would think youd be smart enough to know how to deactivate onstar.
BTW, this was in a town of less than 4k people. Mathis, TX, close to corpus christi.

I don't think there's too much "hot wiring" going on today, they just bust out the ignition area and get it started from there.....exalted512 wrote: »Yup, so my grandpas NNBS truck got stolen sometime before 6am.

But you still have to get past the chip in the key. Def. interesting, glad its back...even if we dont really know where 'back' is.
Hopefully most of his tools are still with it.

We barely found out where the truck is. No idea on the condition or anything else yet.

Well, finally got the update we were waiting on.
Evidently, my grandpa left the doors unlocked...and he keeps an extra key in the center console....not too smart obviously!
But it appears that nothing was stolen, they caught the guy that stole it as well as he was in the truck when they found it.
Luckily nothing appears to be stolen either....which is great b/c the insurance company probably wouldnt want to cover anything since he basically handed the guy the keys.
old people! geeze.
