Bought this movie blind last week and finally got around to watching it last night, fantastic. Very well done, well acted and some of the most breathtaking cinematography ever put on film. Add to that the Blu-ray has stunning PQ and SQ. At nearly 3 hours it was one I will revisit very soon as it went by very quickly.

As Ron said, the cinematography on this film is wonderful (even on standard DVD). The movie itself is a great story that seems to go by much faster than the time indicates. Good call Ron.

If you enjoy this film, you should also check out another film written and directed by Terrence Malik..."Days of Heaven". Another film with great cinematography that was filmed in 77/78. An interesting story line but the film itself is the star IMO. Well worth at least a rental if you can find it.

Just added "Days of Heaven" to my queue Shack, thanks. That will be a tough watch though, Richard Gere, I am not a fan at all of him.

Neither am I. Never could never get over having to watch "American Gigolo" and "Officer and A Gentleman". That said, the actors are not the reason to watch this movie...the cinematography is. If it is available on Blu-Ray it may be worth renting a BR copy for that reason alone.
