Howdy fellow Club Polkers! I am happy to report that I am a proud new owner of some SDA-1Cs. I bought these form Reeltrouble 1 on the board Saturday. What a nice and cool guy he is and man does he have some nice gear! I have wanted a pair of SDAs for three years, especailly the 1Cs and they were well worth the wait. In the past when a pair would come up, they would be too far away for me to pickup, or if a pair did show up within reasonable driving distance (9 hours one way was my cutoff), I wouldn't have the funds. Finally everything worked out and I purchased an extremely well taken care of pair form a great CP member. These things sound great! Again they were well worth the wait and I couldn't be happier.

    Thanks to all!

Ted mentioned that Jesse had worked on them. He did a great job. The fabric is extremely nice on these. I love the RDO tweeter upgrade also.

I didn't score the Grado Woody. The bidding got a little higher than I wanted to go considering my recent expendentures. It's ok, I am extremely with my system right now considering all of the recent upgrades I have made to it. The Grado can wait for another day, I have enough new things to enjoy and break-in to last me for a pretty good while.

I have recently added a Grant B-283 tube buffer to the system and upgraded the stock 6J1 tubes with some Mullard 8100s and added some Herbies tube dampers. This thing made a huge improvement to the system! I will definitely be adding a tube pre or tube amp in the future (or maybe a tube CDP). Thanks to all again. I'm glad to be a part of the family!

Hi Steve, Since you mentioned wanting one, I remembered seeing this one on our local CL. I don't know if it a good deal, looks like the Sonata Statement is $600 new and the PH-1 is $500 new (looking at Audiogon sales) I don't have the funds nor the TT, but I thought I would give a heads up, if you are interested.
He wants $300 For the Sonata, or $550 for the cart + a PH-1. can tell you he has listed it a couple of times, but has not yet dropped the price.

Agreed man, congrats! Let me be the first to warn you that the longer you listen to these, the greater your desire will be for more. I caution you to listen with caution lest you end up with the big dawgs in the house.;)

Thanks again everyone! I am actually using them for both two channel and home theater since incorporating a pre with hometheater pass-through. I couldn't be happier with both, but two channel is so sweet with these things, especially playing vinyl. I have moved my former front mains, RTA-12Bs to sorround duties since they use similiar drivers to the SDAs. They make very good sorrounds for the SDAs! I know this is taboo, but I actually listened to some tunes in 7-channel stereo and the combination of SDA-1C mains, RTA-12B sorrounds, and RTi-10 rear sorrounds was awesome! I know, I know, I do listen to them in two channel mode the majority of time, but it's cool to experiment a little.

Thanks for the links kcoc321. I have pretty much spent my audio budget for the next couple of months with all of the new additions, otherwise I would jump all over this. One of these days I will introduce one of those wood bodied Grados into the system, or the Dynavector, or the ClearAudio Arum Beta. I am really enjoying the Denon DL-160 with it now. Thanks again to everyone!
