Any Netbook Users?

I just picked up a MSI U210 netbook. Most netbooks average 8-11" screens but this one has nice 12" screen. Feature rich as it does have HDMI out, so perfect to run in the HT room if I want. Came with 2gb ram ,an Athlon 1.66 processor and a 250gb Sata HDD. I unloaded most of the crap ware and installed what I needed to be productive in the field as it is my personal companion to my work notebook. At least with this I can download the info from forums when I travel and read while in flight, etc. My main thing was very portable, very lightweight, ultra thin, and powerful when shopping. I have two nice laptops, Dell D620 and XPS1530 so I didnt want the extra weight. Anyone else with a netbook? Fairly cheap as I paid 429 for this one. Add to that my slim external usb HDD and I am now very mobile and this should help with these long flights.

Some quick pics next to my Dell D620

12" doesnt seem like a netbook anymore, but more of a subnotebook. I had a Sony with a 10" and one with a 13".... both subnotebooks with optical drives @ 3 and 5lb respectively. I suppose battery life is the improvement here?

I have a Dell Mini. With an 8" screen. I like it. Its great for trips though. Super lightweight, and you can throw it in a backpack and not even worry about space being taken up.

Simple word processing and net surfing is it's basic function, and it serves it well.

I have a Dell Mini 9 that I upgraded to a 64GB SSD and 4GB of RAM. After the upgrade, it has replaced my standard notebook computer! Never thought I would like the form factor so much.

We recently put together a cart of the MSI U110's. They're a true netbook... I found while setting them up, that I dislike having a tiny keyboard. Other than that, they're quick with XP loaded, and perfect for the kids because they take up less room on the desks.

The netbook cart makes the 8th cart that's rolling around the building. Each with 30 laptops in it, and it's own printer. With our new building-wide wireless system, you can fire a laptop up anywhere and be online working on your projects right away :)

    Same here.

At 12" I would also say it's more of an Ultra compact, I needed the larger screen though. I have read good things about Dell Minis as well.

Im on a dell mini 9 im on right now. Great to have in the bedroom with my main computer in the office. Put it under the nightstand and never worry about it.

Also great for school. I have an older dell laptop, about 4 years old i guess. This mini 9 i cant even feel in my backpack, width or weight. Use it for school all the time....note taking, doing projects...i love it!
