One TSi300 Speaker Sounds Dull, Possible Fix?

Hello, I recently bought 2 Floorstanding TSi300 speakers at best buy for my new Denon AVR-3310CI Reciever. I assume I hooked up everything properly and so I checked the Ch. levels of the speakers in the options menu. Apparantly my left TSI speaker sounds duller than the same model on the right side (Sounds from the right speaker sounds more crisp to my ears). So I switched sides to see if it was the speaker wire. Same speaker still sounded dull even on the right side now. I messed with the DB levels on that speaker to try to match the other one but it wasnt really a loudness issue more of a clarity issue. Someone told me about the metal plates behind the speaker that is connecting Red-Red and Black-Black and to make sure they are tightly secure, which they are on both speakers. Could anyone point anything on this problem? On movies and games I can't really tell the difference since its very loud no matter what but music i can hear the difference. Is the speaker busted? Thank you for your time.

Swap the connection at the AVR so that the R speaker out is connected to the L speaker wire. If it is still the same speaker, then you know it isn't the AVR. Also use two different sources during you testing (CD, radio, DVD etc.) to make sure it isn't the signal going into the AVR. Play something at some lower levels and get your ear right up to the drivers and see if you can find one that is not performing as it should. This should help you narrow it down some more.

Welcome to CP and good luck.

Thank you for your time in helping with this problem I have. I did what you said and the same speaker is giving me the trouble. I took the grill off and listened to some high quality music and put my ear up to the speakers. I found that the tweeter is really low compared to the other one. The other one is clearer when the singer sings and when the symbols on the drums hit but on the duller one if sounds really low. Is this something I should just return to BB and replace it with a new one?

I would return it and try another one. Lets say there is nothing wrong with it, but you will always think there is so why not take it back and exchange it then you will know.
