Just wanted to post this picture. I've been building a house for a while now, and thought I'd post this pic to the forum. This will be the lovely home theater. :0)

The only thing I suggest is make sure you read, read, read. I have a dedicated HT so feel free to ask questions, also get with forum Grimster. Make sure you run plenty of dedicated 20 amp breakers, and run ethernet cable to the room for your sources. I ran a 24 port gigabyte switch as to have plenty of bandwidth for gear as most seems to have ethernet these days. I would also run LAN cable and dedicated circuit in ceiling if you are going front PJ.

If you are planning front PJ take into considerations of dark screen wall and ceiling as to prevent light from returning back to the PJ. Those are some of the main things as of now. Other than that, if you have anything, just ask. Enjoy and check out the show case for ideas as well. Some good pics of other setups that may help you along the way.

I've posted this stuff before, but here's the related equipment:
PS3 for blu ray (not as impressed as the A/V media, but it's pretty good)
    Toshiba HD DVD
Rotel RB 985 Mk II for 5 channels
Rotel RB 951 to round out the 6th and 7th channels
HK receiver to be used as decoder/preamp (would like to upgrade, but later)
    Optoma HD 72 projector
Speakers are a mix of mid-fi, such as
    Polk RT400, Polk Monitor 7, Monitor 10
    Infinity RS 4,
Castle (forgot the model, but floorstanders)
    BIC Venturi V604 Bipole/Dipole
    Reel Acoustics 250W 12" sub
    Boston Acoustics CS7
    Bose AM-5
--Not sure which speakers I will put where

I wired the house with a 7.2 wall jack, banana plug jacks throughout the room
HDMI 1.3 wired through the wall with outlets as well
The wire is a decent grade 12 gauge. Bought a 250 ft roll. I hope it serves well, I have found wire to be important--good reviews on Amazon, but you know how that goes.

I have 5 rows of theater seats from a theater out of North Carolina. Unfortunately I will not be using those, but I did get a very nice couch to go in the room.

The walls were treated with sound insulation and the drywall is higher grade, thicker than the usual, but other than that, the walls are pretty standard.

The floor will be 1" oak hardwood, so I will definitely be using some room treatments. Michael Green (Roomtunes) taught me some neato tricks for acoustic treatments.

Of course, room darkening blind in the window.

That's about it, I'll post some pics upon completion. Tis a very long dream coming true!
Edit: Dedicated 20 amp breaker on the sound equipment, dedicated breaker on the projector as well, so no air conditioner, refrigerator, etc. interference.

You will definitely want to get that screen wall darker in order to achieve maximum picture quality out of any projector. If you dont, your image will appear washed out or just very flat. Also consider Lutron dimmers for lighting, an IR kit to control all your gear if your stashing it in a closet or the rear of the room. In a dedicated HT I would highly recommend you sonsider carpet over hardwood floors. I use 1/2" sound matting under my carpet even to help out with treatment as well.

Gear list sounds good as Im sure the other guys will chime in on that dept. Not sure if you have projector mount but consider Chief RPAU which is very sturdy mount and Universal should you upgrade in future. If you need additional cabling consider monoprice or bluejeans cable. Just throwing some things out there at you as I was in your position last yr this time. Once you're in there you'll want things sounding and looking great so take all info/suggestions to heart. For popcorn machine check out Paragon as they are some of the best, I bought from Stargate Cinema. I can pass you other info as time goes on or if you have Qs. You should be excited, I spent countless hours in my HT during the build process, thinking, adding, taking away.

Edit: And dont forget your projector screen, I did not see that on your gear list.
