    Mazdaspeed Miata!

That's what i would pick, but that's just me. The S2000 is probably "more" car.

But i'd still pick a Miata personally.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I've never actually driven an s2000 but the miata I drove was lots of fun. I think the s2000 gets crappy gas mileage for a small car if that matters to you. I think the s2000 looks a lot nicer though.

Between the two, I'd choose the S2000... Then again, I am biased towards Honda...

I've read nothing but great things about the Miata though...

That NSX isn't very sexy looking :( I hope it looks better without all the clown makeup to cover up it's curves.

Anyway, have you been out to test drive both cars? If you haven't I'd try that to see how they make you feel. I wasn't very impressed with the inside of the s2000 (I only looked at it) but I don't imagine people buy them because the interior is nice :)

It's hard for me to recommend one, as I've not driven either. I'm not at all impressed with the interior quality of my Mazda3, but from what I've seen of the current Miatas, the interior does look pretty nice. S2000 does look better, though.

If you can branch out, I would definitely be interested in the Solstice GXP (or now only the Sky GXP) over either the Miata or S2000. However, if you can make the stretch, the 370Z would be quite the wild ride, as well, though admittedly it is farther removed from the driving experience the Maiata, S2000, and Solstice/Sky give.

Very old news. The car was canceled some nine months ago. Just another victim of Carpocalypse Now.

As to the original question, hands down the MX-5 Miata.

Just looked them up online, and I was incorrect in assuming the 370Z is more expensive. As per MSRP for base editions unless otherwise noted:

    Nissan 370Z base: 29,930
Nissan 370Z with sport package: 32,930
    Mazda Miata: 22,500
    Honda S2000: 34,955
    Pontiac Solstice GXP: 29,485

I'm sure the OP already knows the prices of the cars he's looking at. The listing was more for my own benefit, as obviously I wasn't aware of the pricing. I'm quite surprised the S2000 carries that much of a premium, and given the company I listed it with, I would never choose to pay that premium for it. I'd much rather have a 370Z. But out of that group, the Solstice GXP might be the most fun. Much closer, if not the same, driving experience as the Miata and S2000; also delivers 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, 28mpg on the highway, and 260hp along with a great weight balance. I have driven one of these, although for just a short period, and though I must admit the interior is not of great quality, the car is just too much fun to not consider.

All in my opinion, of course. :)

I've driven both the Solstice (actually the nicer Saturn Sky 2.0) and Mx5. IMO the Pontiac/Saturn isn't nearly as fun to drive as the Mazda. Seriously, it's not even close. Chasis, driver feedback, brakes, steering, everything except straight line acceleration. Comparing the two is like comparing a BMW 3 to an Accord.

Ouch, that hurts a little bit. Guess I need to go drive a Miata; sounds like it really is a blast!

It does hurt, but it's the truth. The Solstice isn't light or tossable, and you can definitely feel a HUGE difference when driving them.

If you're open to used, check out a late model MR2 Spyder, too. They're a VERY surprising underdog that can be found for peanuts. If you want a light and tossable 2-seater, it doesn't get much lighter or more tossable. They weigh under 2200lbs, if that says anything. Can EASY find a minty fresh one for under $12k, and a bank will still lend you money on one if you need that.

That's an interesting idea. I just saw one on campus a few days ago; first time in a quite a while. I didn't know they're that light! That's pretty remarkable! At least the MR2 didn't start the current trend of weighing down vehicles beyond belief.

+Miata...........not even close. You have to rev the crap out of the S2000 to get it to do anything. That gets old real fast driving in stop-n-go city traffic.
