I will be hooking up my sub PSW350 to my receiver(Yamaha RXV3800)
Also using a Klipsch center, BW Nautilus for L and R channel,
Polk satellites for rear.
What is this biwire and crossover terminology or can I get away with a straight hookup. Should I invest in quality cables? Thanks.
Any advice appreciated.

I imagine your reciever probably has an LFE/Sub output. Connect using that.
Quality speaker cables are a plus.
Bi-wiring won't have anything to do with the sub.
Crossover, you should set on your reciever, setting it depending on what your mains can do. 80hz is usually a good starting point.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Thanks. Looks like there is a sub hookup, almost like an RCA hookup but only one?

Nope!
Don't do it!
I just got one of these three days ago... Hook it up "the Polk way", as I've seen on the boards before...
You can find a downloadable PDF for the PSW350 on this site under "products" -> "recent/vintage models" and do a search for PSW350.
If you run it direct LFE, it sounds boomy and muddy. I was borrowing a friends RCA 50way, 6in sub just to see what a sub could add to my system... If you plug the 350 into your LFE it sounds better than the sh!tty RCA I was using, but not much... and louder...

The PSW350 "preferred" way is to run your front left and right into the sub from the receiver, back out from the sub to the front left and right channels. Set the receiver to "No Sub". Even the manual states that the "no sub" setting might not seem right, but it sounds right.
No LFE involved.

Thanks.
This does sound familiar now.
I haven't used the sub in a while, and will be hooking up
with a new system, doesn't make a lot of sense, but if that's what they
recommend, I''ll do it. Thanks for the refresher. -
Please re-read the manual..using the speaker wire connections is the preferred way...when using the RM6200 and RM6600 (small sat speaker system).
It is for small speaker systems and for receivers that don't have LFE Bass capasity.
You will get more performance from the LFE cable connection method, as well as being able to use the Bass management on your receiver, instead of just the crossover in the sub.
That is my opinion. -
This meathod is what I'm using with my Rta 11tls as my fronts. They aren't sda but they aren't small either. The 350 might not be a jugernaut of a sub, but through the LFE it comes across as stealing a lot of the lows that should be coming from the more-than-capable 11tls, at least on my receiver.
Allowing the sub's crossover to basically decide what it can and cannot handle seems to be working really well and sounds much more natural to me (yes, I tried the straight LFE line as a quick hookup to show my wife and toddler what it sounds like because I didn't want to start messing with speaker wire around a toddler).
It just seemed that there were frequencies my speakers were more than capable of hitting that the sub was stealing and so it gave an impression of artificial bass.

Yep, it really depends on how low you can set the crossover on the receiver. In my two channel, i actually run my mains full range, and set the crossover via the sub where i get a nice blend. On the Esprits, it's usually set at about 55hz.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.
