    Guys,

Thanks for all the kind words and comments!

So far I do like the EH's but since I am new to tubes I don't know what I may be missing as yet. So far part of the fun for me is trying out the different tubes until I find what I like the most. Since I need 2 Quad's at a time this could get expensive before it is over with!

A friend of mine picked up an Anthem tube amp and I just got back from his house. We rolled in a quad of the Winged C's. They sounded nice and I think when they have had some burn in time they will be sweet. He's got Ei's coming from F1nut that he is looking forward to trying out as well.

So when the Ei's get to him I may buy a quad of the Winged C's and the set he has to try them out. I also have a new quad of the JJ's but will need another of those as well if I am going to try them out.

I love the tube amps and the warm sound they have. I don't think I will ever go back to SS amps. I do believe that it depends on your whole system as to how the tubes will sound. As well as the acoustics of your listening room.

I borrowed a Shelter 501 cartridge for about 3 weeks from another friend and gave it back (reluctantly) this past week end. It made a huge difference in the sound of my vinyl. I did not want to spend $1K for a cartridge so today I ordered a Ortofon HMC-30. They said it would give the Shelter a "run for it's money" or I could return it. Just have to wait and see. If it is even close I will be very pleased.

Thanks again guys I am learning more and more everyday from all of you and I appreciate all of your comments!

    You are right, Tubes Rule!

sorry for the intrusion....if I offend i will start another thread...

No intrusion at all, but you are going to kill my wallet! I have gotten a bad case of "tube envy" and can't resist the urge to buy more!

I think I may need an intervention before it's all over with!

Thought I would post a picture of them. I am still working on the granite they are sitting on. I got spiked feet for them that I have not put on yet.

    Beardog,
The newest Shuguang has been causing quite a rockus. You might want to check audioasylum. I think it has a leeter 'C' or something to it. But it's the newer one.

    Dagoods,
Very cool, dude. Glad you're enjoying them. Let me help you spend some money. The smaller input tubes are much cheaper if you want to roll them;).
Take your time and enjoy it before you start swapping. Enjoy the new amps.
