I bought a new 2 channel car amp today. It is capable of running at 2, 4, 8 ohms. I want to run my to rear door speakers into one channel and a subwoofer into the other. I was wandering if it is safe to run one channel at 8 ohms and one channel at 2 ohms.

Can't answer that but it would be NICE if there were standards in listing of power output. ALWAYS big large print on box on power out put to read fine print that it is PEAK with the wind to your back going down hill!!!! LOL. How about a manufactures standard of @ 8 ohm in wrms. The US had that problem in the marine engine realm. A 150hp Yamaha was SMOKING a Johnson 150. WHY??? NO standards. Yamaha givivg rating @ the prop. Johnson @ the powerhead. Sooooo the BIA finally stepped in and made the standard ALL manufactures WILL list H.P. at the prop. Now it's a level playing field. Whish someone would do the same for audio equipt.

you would have mono sound from all your speakers. No channel seperation
