My dad sent that to me a while back. Supposedly it's a group of students who calculated all the variables.

But I really don't see how it could be done. At least, not with such certainty that a live human being would be willing to give it a go.

That one is not real. I remember reading about it. They did a good job making it look real!

You can instantly tell it's a fake. Just look at the length of ramp, and they only wet the very start with two small buckets of water. The guy would come to a screeching halt if he hit a dry patch anywhere on that.

thats what did it for me, both ends of the ramp are the same height. To gain that kind of momentum the take off side would have to be at least 3 times higher than the launch end

I have wintessed stunts performed on movie sets that were far more complicated than this. I am not saying these guys actually pulled it off, but from a vantage point of one camera, there is reason to doubt.

It doesn't look like the jump is nearly as high as the in-run. Bad camera angle, but it seems that he started a fair bit higher than the jump. It also looks to me (again, tough to be certain because of the angle) that the in-run is much steeper than the take off.

Doubt it's real, but definitely plausible.

Yah I'm sorry, no way this is real; in order to stop in 3 feet of water you'd have to fan out big time, and he tucks into a ball; 3 ft of water isn't going to do ****; he'd still plow into the bottom with enough force to break bones

Haha, I love the p hysics nerd who figures it's "possible." While in an ideal world I suppose it might be "possible" by the numbers, no way would someone be able to stay on the slide in such a straight line (at the very least the slide should be a "chute" instead of just a flat thing), but even then, no way you're landing in a kiddie pool 100 feet away. Wayyyy too many variables with speed (friction, wind, angle, body position).
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

A lot of people bring this up, but judging from the reflectivity of the ramp before and after they throw the buckets of water on it, I think the ramp was pre-wetted and the buckets were simply a little more for good measure.

The part that makes me think it's fake is the pool he lands in. It looks like it's maybe 2 feet, or 2.5 feet deep tops. Decelerating from something in excess of 60 mph to 0 mph in 2.5 feet is not plausible. He would sustain some injuries. Probably a broken tailbone, given how he went into the pool.

Just think when you jump off the high dive in a pool. It can take you 5 or 6 feet to stop moving underwater, and that's with a much slower entry velocity than this guy had.

I cannot believe that there is any doubt whether this is real or not.

Of course it was. And if you look closely, Bigfoot can be seen hiding behind one of the trees.
