I have learned specs certainly don't tell the truth, and reviews don't mean too much either. I have heard gear sound good with one system, and sound like crap on another. Go figure.

I will continue to learn untill the day i die! If a day passes and i don't learn something i have effectively wasted that day. I don't like wasting time ;)

I am confused. He calls open minded waiting for specs, and other people with different gear to tell him what he is going to like or dislike. I'd rather take advice from a handful of people here then a lot of the reviews I have read on the internet. Especially reviews from forums that have a boat load of advertising on them;)

SL I am pretty upset with you. Sometimes when people would ask how are things going on the forum, and even in life I used to say "I am still learning". Now there is now way in hell I want to say "I am still learning":o Come on bud straighten out so I won't be embarrassed if I say that anymore.

You are very hard pressed to get any manufacturer ( except Kinber or Cardas ) to give a real idea how the cables are made and then you need a science degree to understand what the hell they just said. Even the ESOTERIC E7 ( top shelf doesn't really tell you all that much ) That's WHY I am staying with " Acoustic Research " Performance or PRO series cables. They tell you in plain english you CAN understand and show a really good disection of theyre cables. Cannot beat the quality for the money. The AR " Performance " series is BETTER than Esoteric E5 cables for a whole lot less cash. Esoteric rates theyre shielding as class 1 ,2 , or 3. Do you know the difference between class 2 compared to class 3??? Alot of this stuff is sold by " status name like Cardas " I could almost buy a NEW CROWN amp for just 1 of theyre RCA interconnects. Past a certain point it's ALL snake oil and bragging rights. Kinda lke bragging you boned Paris Hilton.

How many other cables have you actually listened to for an extended amount of time. I'm guessing very few, because if you did you wouldn't be talking like this. I'm all for someone being on a budget or not having the motivation to get some experience. But you need to STFU, if you don't have a clue what you're talking about. If you have extensively experienced many different types, brands of cables and still prefer the cheaper AR series then I applaud you for having an open mind and trying things for your self. If not, GET LOST.

haha!!!! "Kinda lke bragging you boned Paris Hilton."

From what I have read is that Emotiva and Paris Hilton have a lot in common,

    1. Nice looking on the outside, But nothing really on the inside, and
    2. Nice "BANG" for the BUCK.

I guess joking/bashing Paris Hilton (a human being ) was ok.

Not yet on the Dared, More then likely I will pull the trigger on the Jolida JD 9A phono pre real soon. I just want to be sure it will match up well with the Technics and DL 160 MC.

Seriously AR cables suck. You can buy better cables cheaper. So what did the manufacture tell you about their cables? Do you expect Dodge to come out and admit most of their vehicles suck on gas, and the caravans are one of the worst vehicles ever made?
A crown amp for HiFi? Who cares about the shielding? Did you know that shielding in a home enviorment is 99% of the time unessesary? Don't run signal and AC wires parallel. Easy enough? Quality as in how pretty they are? Again what cables have you compared them to, and what do you have for components? If you are running a CDP to a Bose wave radio you won't notice a difference. Find a local Polkie near you and see if you can hear a difference. Going by what a manufacture claims about their cables is real funny. What do you expect them to say?

IMO, even monoprice and radio shack interconnects are better than AR.

Are you installing them in a car? Near high voltage AC? Even in a car if you wired your system right you don't need shielding unless you have a crazy ignition. Those are catch phrases. Are you saying save up for EMO cables? You need to get your ears on some other cables to compare them to.

    :o I'm a po' mo' fo'! :o

Plus i really don't think the cable's should cost as much as my system....

To each their own, for me these look like they may be good bang/buck :o

Damn dude. Who said your cables should cost what your system does:rolleyes: I have evaluated many cheap cables before, and you don't need to spend a fortune. Yeah they are pretty woo hoo. Pretty doesn't mean they sound good. Go used. Get your ears on. Listen to those who have actually tried different cables. I thought these "cable believers" were a bunch of snobs chasing there olives around their martinis with there pinkies up in the air, but I have learned since then. They were trying to help. Again "those who know know. Those who don't know don't know they don't know".

I never said these thing's were the be all end all of cable's! I merely said they look like a good bang/buck option for some :o And ya they do look good to boot!

Why does it seem like so much emotiva "bashing" here?....

Some EMO gear is good, and some not so good. Their marketing fluff is laughable.
Have I tried those cables in particular? No. Have I tried other cables with the same specs? Yes. Have some of those cables with the same type of claims been expensive? Yes. What did I do with those cables? I gave them away in karma's if they weren't total crap. I saved a couple sets just to test equipment long enough to see if the equipment was good. The rest I tossed in the dumpster with a boat load of ~M~ crap too.
