It really boggles my mind when people post old items selling for hundreds of dollars or more, with photos that are poorer quality than a 1960's cheap camera, and descriptions that leave out very basic details that can swing the realistic price by hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

Unless it's just a fluke with the poor photo, these look to be very neglected, dingy and dirty, even some sun damage to the passive radiator. Even if they still "work" it wouldn't be long before they need a complete rebuild. So their value is about the value of the cabinets, and that assumes no cabinet damage (which probably isn't a good assumption for a neglected item).

I wouldn't pay more than $400 for them, and would assume it would cost over $1000 to restore them and a lot of hours work. Even then, the cabinets would have to be structurally perfect.

how can you guys tell how **** a condition they're in? i figured it was just a cheap **** camera. not sure. either way, if they really are in poor condition, i wouldn't pay more than $400 either. i got mine for what they are asking from the same city they are in and mine were PRISTINE.

You're absolutely right, can't tell for SURE. I'm just opining based on patterns I've seen with lame sellers on a whole host of things over the years. It usually tells you something about the seller mindset. Not always, but usually. Like John said, either they are idiots, or they are fishing for an idiot (which is their right). Same conditions either way.

I mean, what's the point of saying you must sell because you're moving, and holding firm on price. Moving implies anxious seller. Firm on price implies unanxious seller. Poor photos, incomplete and/or wrong price information (which would be illegal if they were a commercial seller) all combines into low odds for a great deal. Not zero, but low.
