Beatles Vinyls Stereo mixes - different from CD remasters??

Hi there,
With all this discussion of the merits of the stereo vs mono cd remasters I thought I'd get out my stereo vinyls for a listen before I receive the new CDs.
Its seems many people dislike the hard panning on the stereo CD versions of Please Please Me and With The Beatles in particular, along with Rubber Soul & Reveolver. This appears to be the major reason the Mono box set is so popular.
I wonder if the vinyl stereo mixes I have are something altogether different from the CDs? On my records, the hard panning is evident - band on one side, vocals and feature instruments on the other, however, its not totally discrete.
On the left channel, I can still hear vocals, but absolutely swamped in reverb and at a much lower volume than the right channel. I can also hear the band in the right channel (but much lower volume than the left). The bass is the same in both channels. Is this how the cd's sound or is there a total absence of vocals in the left channel, and a total absence of band in the right? Where does the bass sit?
BTW Love Me Do and PS I Love You sound really odd.....it appears to be mono but the left channel is eq'd with no treble and heaps of mids whereas the right is eq'd with massive treble and zero mids!!
Thanks,
Mark

Wow the plot thickens........
I just got out my CD versions of Love Me Do. One from the EP box set and one from the Singles box set. They're both mono mixes but the EP version is much clearer and brighter than the Single version.
I would have thought they'd be the same. -
C'mon, surely someone has listened to the new Cds and can give me their perspective?????

Hi, I'm Doug and I'm in shame that I must give up my audiophile card because I don't like the Beatles. I know it's not right, but I've tried my best to like them, I just can't. Paul always sounds like one of those whiny little b$tches he tends to marry and I never thought that Ringo was that good of a drummer. My sister gave me all their CD's in hopes she would convert me, but it didn't work.
I must go try to console myself while playing some Buddy Holly records.DKG999
