My 6th pair of Polks!!

Last weekend I went out to some garage sales not expecting to find anything special audio wise, but I was wrong.
Walked into this house towards the end of my day and went straight to the audio stuff, a black Marantz receiver that they wanted $275.00 for and a cheap multi disc player that they wanted $75.00 for. Niether was worth the asking price.
I started to look at the books, as the audio was way too much, and I noticed that there was a pair of speakers with the Polk logo. I took a closer look and saw they were Monitor 5jr's. I asked the price, which was $25.00 and negotiated them down to $20.00.:D
They're mint, except for one small scuff to the rear of one of the boxes.
They are added to my collection, which now consists of the following:
RTA-11T
Monitor 10 with Peerless tweeters
Monitor 7 with Peerless tweeters
Monitor 5 with Peerless tweeters
Monitor 5 with silver tweeters
Monitor 5jr
I have taken the Monitor 7's temporarily out of service so that I could listen to the 5jr's, and they sound very clean, stellar highs, smooth mids and only a tad bass shy.
I think I'll pair them with my vintage Harman/Kardon 330B receiver in a smaller room.
Not bad for a $20.00 investment.
Now to find some SDA's!!!
Cheers

You gotta look at alot of estate sale or tag sales listed. I've talked ALOT of people down on items they REALLY have no clue of what it is or its value. My best so far was a OLDER Pioneer TT I talked down from 15 to 5 because return arm was a little hesitant. Some good ole spit shinning , cleaning , and lubrication and Wa-la. Instant gold mine. This was old enough it played 3 record sizes. Had AT cartridge to boot!!!! Were selling on e-bay almost 300.00. Had audio yard sale and customer elated , and my wallet she be smilling!
