NFL Week 1 - How'd your team do?

Yeah, there are still two games tonight but both are shaping up to be blow outs. The Pats are going to be a brutal team to play with Brady looking to show he's still the Pats' Golden Guy. New England is going to run over Buffalo and San Diego vs. Oakland is going to be a Battle of the Suck which San Diego likely sucking less and thereby being the winner.

As for me, didn't get to see the Cowboys play. Had to suffer through the Eagles rather boring win against Carolina. Hopefully I'll get to see more next week.

Reviews say they looked good but it was against Tampa Bay and it seems they stunk up the joint. next week is the Giants who looked real good against the Redskins. It'll be an interesting game.

So what did your team do?

My team lost on an 87 yard miracle catch with 11 seconds left. I would expect no less for being a Bengals(Bungles) fan. I will say this though about the Bengals...if you didn't see this game and your team is going to face the Bengals this year, be ready for some big hits. I saw at least 3 awesome hits by the Bengals D.

I'm a Pats fan, so there's an element of "don't know yet", but the Bills are terrible and Brady is back!! I expect them to look good tonight, 31-10 over Buffalo.

The Chargers don't suck. Sure, they've played below their talent level and below expectations the last couple years, but I look for them to turn it around this year. They'll blow out the Raiders tonight, 38-13, en route to an easy 6-0 in their division and probably 12-4 overall.

Won of course, how can they not with Favre leading the team now? :)

Dallas did ok but their play does not give much promise to the Cowboys fans. They are lucky if they end up above .500 this year.

I think SD might have a better team this year than Pats. Sure the O is good in NE but that D looks very, very weak on paper. We'll see tonight how they do on the field.

Besides Elam kicking worse in one game than he did all of last year, the Falcons looks to be building on last year's success. I found it ironic that they attempted a Wildcat formation before Miami, but I don't see that scheme working for anyone this year.

Five new defensive starters and pitched a shut put until a late game meaningless drive by Miami. Once the offense starts clicking (Hi Turner!), Atlanta should be better than expected. God knows, Carolina has reason to worry next week.

My Giants and Colts won, and my 49ers even managed to pull out a win against the Cardinals in AZ.

I didn't get to watch the Colts game, but 14 points is probably not gonna cut it in the long run.

The Giants looked ok against the Redskins, but I'd like to see them just put the game away and not let Washington hang around like they did.

The 49ers, wow what a game! They've been my favorite team since back in the Montana days, and the last few years have been rough for me as a fan, but they may end up as a respectable team this year, especially if they could get Crabtree on the field.

The Broncos played inspired defense for 55 minutes, then went soft on pass rush and coverage and gave the game away until the miracle tip happened. On offense, too many dropped balls which can be fixed, but Orton can't throw the ball with any zip over 20 yards. Plus, his "senior moment sack" on third down to take the team out of field goal range was unexcusable.

Packers Defense looks amazing. I think the offense looked soft, but I'll chalk it up to jitters for now. The 1st team looked too good in the preseason putting up huge numbers quickly for that to be just a fluke.

    On another note:

    Well, this is rough...
Bears lose injured Urlacher for season

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a dislocated right wrist -- a major blow for a team with high expectations.

    Urlacher

Team spokesman Jim Christman confirmed a Chicago Tribune report, saying, "Brian did have surgery this morning and he is out for the remainder of the season." Urlacher had said in a text message to the newspaper that his "season is over."

Urlacher apparently was injured in the first quarter of Sunday night's 21-15 loss at Green Bay making a tackle on Packers running back Ryan Grant. He left on the Packers' first drive of the second half.

Urlacher, a six-time Pro Bowl player, had started 49 consecutive games in his 10-year career and has missed a total of seven games -- all in 2004 with a hamstring injury.

The Bears have been in contact with free-agent linebacker Derrick Brooks to fill the void left by Urlacher's injury, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, and it's possible the Bears could sign Brooks as early as Monday.

"It's always tough to have your leader go down," linebacker Lance Briggs said, according to the Tribune. "He knows the defense better than anybody and he communicates everything to everyone else."

Urlacher made several plays in the first half, including when he lowered his right shoulder into quarterback Aaron Rodgers after he had released the ball on a third down to send him sprawling.

The Cheezeballz defense looks pretty good. I would say that Rodgers performance was rather dissappointing if you are a Packers fan. There were quite a few good offensive plays that didn't come together because Rodgers was very innacurate. ..not that there's anything wrong with that...;)

He didn't do much to cheer about for 3 1/2 quarters, that's for sure. Then again neither did his offense, specifically Allen Barbre.

Rodgers is statistically a very accurate passer and was under pressue by Ogunleye pretty much the entire game as Allen Barbre was getting man handled down after down.

Considering the amount of defensive pressure that was on him all game I'm glad to see we have a QB who doesn't just launch the ball up into double, triple, or um....Cutleresque quadruple coverage to be picked off. ;) Aside from not creating any turnovers, I'd say the Bears defense did it's job.

The only trepidation I have about Rodgers is his ability to stay healthy in the NFL. In that respect, we were spoiled having a guy like Butt Favre for so long.

Yea.. Rodgers got pretty beat up by the defense, but even when he had a chance he seemed way off the mark. I was pretty surprised. Always fun to brag about the Bears defense, but now with Urlacher out... I don't know.

Bears fan here. Very sad that Urlacher is out of the season. Chicago fans here have WAY HIGH expectations. From what I saw yesterday, there were alot of mental mistakes, easily fixable. I don't expect Cutler to come in and lead us to a Superbowl first season.

I'm not happy with his performance, but I did like some things. Defense was awesome, but to the lost of Urlacher, egh...I hope someone steps it up. The receivers are ALL inexperienced. Even veterans yesterday messed up their routes. The blame cannot be ALL on Cutler, but his interceptions were stupid.

I still think a 10-6 record for this season

EDIT: Vasher needs to get back to his normal self. He's been playing like dog poo.

Being a Broncos fan and considering all of the off season and preseason craziness that has been going on in Denver, I'm afraid we are going to need a lot more miracle finishes like we saw yesterday. I hate to admit it but I don't even see a .500 season this year. C'mon draft day!

So far, so good... defense handed a shutout to the 3rd best offense in the NFL last year, guess that's encouraging? Especially when two of our better pass rushers didn't play (Ellis/Pace).

Add to that, Sanchez looked damn poised for his very first pro game.

Pats at home next week, should be a real barnburner.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

    Go Chiefs!

Safe to say that after yesterday's performance, the proper manamgent is in position. Last 3 years teams would have quit in the 3rd quarter. Tied with 3 mins to go, says a lot for this young team. We are improving and it's safe to say, won't be the worst team on Defense this year by a long stretch!

If we can win 6 games this year, that will be amazing, and then watch out next year! Pioli means business and will not take No as an answer.

Our D actually looked good at times. See, there's always a bright spot eh? :D

    GO PACKERS!

First half defensive show on both sides was very impressive...More so from the Packers than the bears though. 3 interceptions in the first half...not bad!

Only downside for the pack the first half was a saftey...not too surprising considering Rodgers' right-side was basically a walk in the park for the Bears.

There was basically 0 offense until the last 3 minutes from both teams. It looked like the bears had it in the bag with 1:11 left in the game, but Rodgers pulled through for us.
