Help needed with Onkyo 805 not receiving HDMI signal from HTPC

Hello all,
I need help with passing HDMI signal (both video and audio) through Onkyo SR805.
I have a PS3 and an HTPC connected to the Onkyo in HDMI In 1 (DVD) and 2 (CRT/VCR). Then I connect the Onkyo to output picture to an Epson Cinema 1080p projector.
The PS3 works fine and passes both audio and video to the receiver. The HTPC however does not seem to be passing signal to the receiver, or at least that's what it says, "HDMI input: No Signal." My graphic card is ATI HD4670.
Here's what I tried so far:
-Switch the HDMI cables between the PS3 and the HTPC. Receiver still not getting signal from HTPC => the cables are fine.
-Switch the HDMI ports on the receiver. All ports work fine for PS3 but none works for HTPC => the HDMI ports are fine.
-Connect the HTPC directly to the projector. I can see picture but of course no sound because I did not connect to the receiver...=> the graphic card sends out signal...graphic driver is updated to the latest version as well.
So the only thing I'm not sure is the receiver. But the receiver is working fine with PS3 as the source. The "HDMI Monitor" in the settings is "Yes" as well.
So I'm stuck without knowing what else to do...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The HTPC works by connecting to the projector directly, but not to HDMI port 2.
Are you not using 1 HDMI cable which can be bad?
Did you try placing AVR into the PS3 mode getting a picture sound everything, then connect the HTPC to this port?

The graphics card's HDMI supports audio too? I have been out of the loop on PC HDMI, but I am guessing that the port only sends video via HDMI. I would check the manufacture's website, and also see if newegg has that model video card. Then read some reviews. Lots of info can be had in those reviews.

I used to have a Marantz SR8001 and I connected to it using this video card fine. So I don't think it was the video card. Although I did have to set the output frame rate to 24Hz back then. I did it too this time but to no avail...
Also I bought the card from neweggOnkyo 805, RtiA5s, Csi5, Rti6s -
What model do you have? Can you provide a link? It looks like only a few video cards with that chipset do sound. Like I said I haven't been into HDMI via PC, or HDMI period. I have two channel only:), and my video is via a 19" crt that doesn't even have any video inputs.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. actually I think disneyjoe was right about the cable.
When I switched the HDMI cable of the PS3 (6ft) to my HTPC, for some reason it didn't work back then. I didn't try to test the HTPC HDMI cable (30ft) but I think the 30ft cheapo cable is the culprit here. I tried the 6ft cable w/ the HTPC today and it now works! 805 is kinda funky but I'm just glad that it worked out now Now I need to hunt for a short cable...
Thanks guys.Onkyo 805, RtiA5s, Csi5, Rti6s -

You can of course do that. The advantage of passing both image and sound through HDMI is you'd only need one cable for both.Onkyo 805, RtiA5s, Csi5, Rti6s -

Yes, I'm a frequent customer on monoprice but besides I found 1 shorter cable for my need, I got another 2 10footers from outstock for $6 shipped
Edited with some info on how to get this in case anyone needs some spare cables

I do not think there's any difference if you are using a digital cable to connect the sound card to the receiver. Digital signal is either there or not there, I don't think it affects the quality too much unless it's a long cable.
On the other hand, for ATI cards, some do HDMI audio natively and some do it by software. I do think it makes a difference in this case. Any HD46xx line or above can do HDMI audio natively, I believe.Onkyo 805, RtiA5s, Csi5, Rti6s -
Glad you figured it out; I'm looking into building my HTPC soon and plan on running an ATI chipset card that does this into an Onkyo 705. It'll be very close though (6 ft cable max).
Just curious, does the ATI card bitstream to the receiver, or does the receiver register as LPCM 7.1? -
I be interested in what's model # of video card you're using. A link would be really sweet

I'm not too sure as I'm pretty new to this HDMI audio thing but I will be playing with it for the next few days but 1 thing i remember from my research was that the audio controller on the card does support LPCM 7.1, meaning the receiver will recognize LPCM 7.1. Haven't had a chance to confirm this though.Onkyo 805, RtiA5s, Csi5, Rti6s -

It's HD4670 but I would advise against getting it purely because the fan is very loud on the Sapphire model I have. In general I heard the same thing for a couple other brands as well. Noise from the card does not bother me because I have other ambient noises from a few fans including one 200mm fan in the case but if I had a choice to do it over, I'd probably get a 4850 or something.Onkyo 805, RtiA5s, Csi5, Rti6s
