Well,I finally got the headshell and 440MLa and it sounds great.Ill be enjoying some old LPs and go look for some more on ebay.:D...I just need to get a pair of decent ICs for it.
I had to mod the ground lug since it seems to be fused and will not loosen up at all.I ran a wire into the back and soldered it to the ground behind the input.Oh well,,, Ive had the TT for 23 years or so and am happy it works since its been sitting ignored for over 10 years. Thanks to all who helped.
sorry for the bad pics.I need a good shelf to put it on too

That line of harman/kardon turntables were, and are, really very nice. They're sort of "sleepers"; not all that well-known, but very good.

Old LP's are usually available at GoodWill and other such thrift shops. Sometimes you can even find good pricing and availability at antique shops, sometimes not... These days I can't seem to pass a GoodWill store without stopping.
    Congrats!

Cool,Im in luck. Not only is there a goodwill store by the supermarket I shop at there is a websters cafe/bookstore downtown. And they do buy and sell used books and vinyl.I forgot about them....First thing first though. The TT sounds a little too warm with the cheap ICs I have hooked up to it right now.So Im checking audiogon and ebay for some nice ones in the $100.00 range for 1.5M. Id like to get those Revelation Audio Labs Paradise Cryo Silvr 1.5 meter with wbt 0110ag rca but at 399.00 I think not.
Im considering the Tara Labs Prism 22 for 50.00...Or king cobra or diamondback.
    Choices....Choices....

I just got a pair of AQ Diamondbacks (2meter) on the bay for 63.00 shipped. Not a bad deal at all and long enough should I decide to have a woodworker build me a nice entertainment center and enclose the TV so I can put the TT on top...

Congrats on getting your old TT up and running. May I suggest that you open the cover while playing your vinyl. I think you'll find it will sound better. Resonating air inside the clear cover will get picked up by your cartridge. Ever hear the echo in a dome or empty building? Same principle.

Not to mention that (at least here in the Northeast) in the wintertime, when the humidity is low, one can rub one's finger across the closed dustcover and watch the tonearm levitate in the resulting static field :-)

Dust cover up, or off, is the way to go.

Thanks for the suggestion.I always keep it at high volumes.I learned that lesson the hard way years ago when I blew a woofer in my old LS70s....Feedback ...Now I also turn on the low filter too.
