    Here is another angle...

And a pic of the framed out cabinets I am taking a break from.

One thing to note - all the lighting and electrical items in the den are Lightman Expressed - he is bad ****.

that is indeed orange behr satin paint :)

And I must say -- I truly enjoy it... everyone that has seen it has really liked it. With the curtains, the wood floor and everything is calms it down...

As my girlfriend said... and energized calm.

I'll back up the orange paint. It's not a bright **** safety cone orange. It's a subdued orange. Goes well with the curtains and furniture.
Some people accidentally have their thumb in the pictures. Trey manages to stick his noggin his.

    Screw you Russ... lol

the webcam is laptop mounted on the screen.... what can ya do?

The cabinets came together nicely - not bad considering I was using a zig saw... only a few of the panels were cut off --- usually small so I could shim the front frames to flush or a straight edge....

Considering every jointed and piece is liquid nailed + screwed or nailed - those bottom cabinets are a part of the house straight up.

The kitchen cabs are going to double as a bomb shelter/safe room.

    thanks for the comment guys!

Glad some folks like the orange ---

It looks much different in person, far darker. The flash almost acts like a highlighter - the lighting in my den is far more subdued.

Looking good, I'm getting close to posting pics of my project as well. All the different angles got me dizzy and do not have a good idea what the room layout is. The shot with the cabinets framed out looks like a different room, or more correctly I can't picture the location of them in the room in the newer shots.

The rooms are so crazy right now there isnt much to photograph.

The room with the cabinets would be the kitchen.

I ripped out the old "cabinets" -- all they had done was take some wood and brace it off the back wall and added a front frame and slapped doors on it...

So I ripped those out and made real cabinets with a back and dividers. I might add shelves - but I am pretty sure I am just going to use the roll out cabinets organizers...

But Russ is adding 6 recessed lights in the kitchen, under cabinet lighting, a work light above the sink, work light in the utility closet and a new overhead light. The 6 recessed lights will be on a dimmer.

Only thing left to do in the Den is run two more hospital grade outlets above each of those glass shelves and the cable to the left glass shelf... and switch out that white outlet for a hospital grade.

Run the misc cables for the components through the bulk cable plates - slap on the plates, hang the TV and we'll be cooking for sure.

Still alot left to do in the kitchen though --

I still have to add a back and top to the top cabinets and add a trim piece at the bottom -

Lots of spackling, scraping, sanding and priming in there.

Not to mention a new floor.

Just going one room at a time. The den and the kitchen are by far the hardest rooms with the most detail work so I wanted to get them out of the way first.

Post pics of your project - I always like to see peoples hard work!

    Thanks for the comments...

Got ya, no wonder I was confused, I thought these were all of the den. I'm still maybe a month away from pics, I'm ashamed to say it's kind of a hack job compared to your work. It's posts like yours that help keep me motivated on my job. OLD houses are a pain in the a$$ to work on with so many uneven, unlevel, un plumb surfaces and 4 or 5 previous remodels done over the years you never know what you are going to find:eek:

Very, very nice. I love deep dark orange colors. Our kitchen is also orange with very dark stained cabinets.

    tell me about it --

This house is ONE HUNDRED AND NINE YEARS OLD!

    lol

The den took a month due to several surprises just to prep, prime and paint.

The kitchen will take equally as long Im sure.

The other room will be far easier.

I'm gonna put purple lamps in the recessed lighting. Maybe some UV flourescents along the base boards then hang a Jimmy Hendrix velvet poster.
    Whatcha think?

I'm one who loves color, I hate white walls, don't have a single one in the house. Every wall is painted with earth tone dark colors. So much more relaxing, colors really bring life to a house.

The only bad thing about his house is it smells like mothballs and cheap wine.
    You can't paint over that.
OHH! And rabid, bad mannered raccoons live in the attic!
