CS250-S or CS350-LS center for LS-50 front?

Recently I had a chance to get a pair of cherrywood LS-50. Am really impressed by their clear, dynamic sound. But now my old center channel couldnt keep up with them. Did some research, knowing that CS400(i) or CS350-LS might be good match for them. But CS400 is too big for my cabinet, and CS350-LS is kinda out of my budget range (at least $150 in good used cond.) My question is: if I can get a CS250-S in half of price of CS350, will I regret it? I live in an apartment which is not that big. Just want to know if anyone has paired CS250 with LS50 before and how did they match?

Thanks for your help. This is my first post and I like this forum very much. Cheers.

I haven't heard the CS250 (S or otherwise). I've heard the LS50s with a CS400i and it's pretty darned good, the 350LS should be even better. If the 250S matches the line (and I think it does), it will probably do a fine job as a match. If it's like the current center lines, CSi, the smaller center (CSiA4) lacks bottom and depth in male voices compared to the larger (CSiA6), but dialog is crisp and clean...should be somewhat similar I'd think.

    Welcome to CP

EDIT: I spoke to soon. I looked it up. The CS250S uses a different tweeter. You will want at least a CS275 or the CS350LS. Each uses the Silver Trilam.

LS owners are coming out of the woodwork huh Ron!
Congrats on the LS50's tsaisz. I recently purchased a set of LS90's and I absolutely love them. I too have a CS350 LS on the way so we can compare notes along the way.

    Welcome!

350 works very nice with the 50's..both share the same drivers, works great with the 90's too
