It's that time of year again when the night time temps drop and those furry little effers are looking for a warm place to procreate, namely my house. Yep, I'm sitting here looking across at my in progress HT room and I see a little dark lump under a piece of furniture in there. ****, a effing mouse! I quick jump up and grab the industrial/contractor Shop Vac that makes dust bunnies quiver from across the room. The poor **** never had a chance. Must have traveled thru the hose at 100 mph, hit the baffle with a loud thud. I took a peek inside......it isn't long for this world. :D

Those things are a PITA. We've got two cats though, and they do a pretty good job keeping the house free of mice.

You just have to deal with them proudly presenting you with their trophy afterwords...lol

Yeah, we have 2 as well, but I'd have to teach them I think lol. We live on the top floor of a condo building in the suburbs, and if a mouse actually made it all the way up here (doubtful) I would just toss it off the balcony, sans chute.

That's the kicker, I've got a cat who is an excellent hunter....kills anything that moves outside the house, yet seems to think that anything inside the house must live here. I went upstairs, found her sleeping in the living room, woke her **** up and had a talk about the situation. We'll see if it did any good.

BTW, checked the mouse again for vital signs and I'm pleased to report there are none.

Just made me laugh out loud.:D

Last week I heard a rustling in the washer/dryer closet in my apt. when I came home for lunch. Turns out one of the little critters had made a home in my dryer vent hose and was making a meal (!?!) out of it. And it was one of those aluminum ones. The thick kind! Since it was already full of holes, I stepped on one end and pulled the dryer out enough to pinch the other, then wadded it and perhaps some offspring up inside. Tossed it in the dumpster and put a cage around the outside vent. Hopefully I won't have to do that again.

Never thought about the shop vac approach. Very entertaining!

In the fall a few years ago we caught 14 mice in the span of a few months. Yuck. Mouse sh@t everywhere. I found a hole in the wall of the garage that the **** were coming in and stuffed it with steel wool. Haven't had a mouse since.

Thats awesome F1. Last year my 11 y/o Son trapped a mouse in our fireplace, it has the glass doors on the front so it can be closed when not in use, well once he trapped this mouse in their he decided to put my wife's 4 lb Chihuahua in their with the mouse. My wife called me at work and said the dog was in one corner crapping himself while the mouse just sat their eyeing his new friend. We got the dog out unharmed and I put a few sticky traps in with a little peanut butter on them problem solved.:)

I took one just for you. It'll be a few days before I get to the film shop, but I'll post it once I do.

I adapted an idea from something I saw at the castles along the Rhine in Germany. They would cut off the head of an enemy, thief, etc., then stick it on a spike in a huge metal basket, which hung out over the wall for all to see. This was done to warn others of the fate that awaits those that offend the lord of the castle. In this case, me. So, I sharpened one end of a stick, impaled the mouse on it and placed the stick in the ground by the garage door as I'm positive this is were they come in when it's open. :D

    hehehehe Ricardo.

He's been "working" on it for three years.......he went to Lowe's and taped some of those paint sample cards to the wall, that is it........of course in vampire time I think 3 years is like eight seconds or something like that......

you seen them too Tom........he has been considering HT since his visit's to Doro's and to the Reel Time Theater..........I suppose that he can actually visualize one in the house is a very giant step, actually, without giving up to much, ole F1 certainly enjoys a good flick and I have noticed the races sound pretty good.

Still not going to help that mouse though, hope the little critter was not related to Mighty!!!
